    What's in a McDonald's hamburger?

They refer to it as " pink slime", it used to be used ONLY in pet food, but since 2001 a savings of 3 cents a pound has persuaded McDonald's that Americans would love to feed their family's dogfood as a treat. Here is the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/31/us...nted=1&_r=1&hp...

Which is closer to TF10 sound, W3 or UM3X?

The UM3X is more comfortable than my sensa customs. Seems to have too many drivers for its soundtube however, soundstage and coherence suffer from the trafficjam.

    Westone UM3X Thread

a few unchanging impressions~ The cable is scary thin, i'm afraid to look at it hard... Coming from the tf10, the unit disappears into my ear, to the point that they require attention to remove neatly. I wonder if the greater extension of the um56 tips is a positive thing.

    Westone UM3X Thread

I don't think the savings warrant sending brand-new IEM's south of the border for reassembling. On the other hand, i have a practically brand-new pair of broken TF's that i might risk sending out to be transmorgrified into a working custom headset. In the meantime i've ordered a pair of the...

What bothers me the most about this, is it's basis in bad-faith marketing. We've recently seen the major manufacturer's releasing unreliable information about coming products that is based soley on their desire to "freeze" potential owners purchases. Give me a couple months notice and i...

Best closed headphone (no price limit) ?

I owned one of the very last R10's built, and still have the 3k's. The R10 was one of the bassy one's, and to my mind that just made the bass adequate. Not a rock headphone. The L3000's have a heavy low-end that can be too much for some types of music, but for rock it is without compare. The...

Suddenly Comply T-400s are rated for the UE Triple-Fi's. (Confirmation: They have been tested!).

I've had my Comply tips for over a week now, and I am quite impressed. They are extremely comfortable, stay in well, and provide the best sound isolation short of custom molds. Poor isolation is the "dirty little secret" about the triple-fi's, the large soundtube bore just doesn't leave...

Is it safe to buy a Classic yet?

The sound of my 160 classic is much better suited to the Triple-fi's than my 3g ipod. The bass was actually too much before, there is a much better balance now. Of course, I couldn't make it thru a workday non-stop with the 3g without running out of battery. Now I can get away with a once a...

Sore eyes in the office at work? Read this
