New from Woo Audio - WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen)
In all honesty I am getting a bit of a hum too and assume it's something on my line. It's not that bothersome so I can easily ignore it.- GamingNut

New from Woo Audio - WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen)
@kato1995 When I was talking about what the tubes add. I was referring to the warmth. It adds a ton of warmth while the schiit stack is much colder and more clinical to my ears.- GamingNut

New from Woo Audio - WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen)
So this is replacing my bifrost 2 and asgard 3 combo. So far I'm really happy with it I'm honestly not seeing any real difference in resolution and detail from my old setup but definitely notice what the tubes are adding to the setup. This was definitely a vanity purchase for my desktop and...- GamingNut

New from Woo Audio - WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen)
Folks. Just letting you know I had a brief email exchange with support at woo audio just asking a few questions. I thought you guys would appreciate the responses. This is my first tube amp so my questions are probably dumb by many of your standards as audiophiles but I hope some new people do...- GamingNut

New from Woo Audio - WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen)
Just got mine yesterday and am starting to put it through its paces. I love the warm sound and how it looks. I am really happy with it so far. I admit I've never owned a tube amp before so I'm terrified about breaking the tubes, but I assume they're a bit more robust than I think.- GamingNut

New from Woo Audio - WA7 Fireflies (3rd Gen)
I just pulled the trigger on the wa7 third gen. I wanted a nice looking integrated unit with tubes that I can add an external DAC if i want to. I currently have a bifrost/asgard 3 and look forward to comparing them to the wa7 3rd gen. The nice thing here for me is I can try out the bifrost...- GamingNut

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
So I don't know for sure but it would be absurd for full size headphones to have a 2.5mm connector. Sorry I can't give you full confirmation- GamingNut

Are you sure it isn't a typo? I'm sure a 3.5 to 1/4" adapter would work.- GamingNut

Have Schiit Bifrost Multibit / Asgard 2 stack.. Do you turn yours off when done?
I asked their tech support guys and they recommended NOT shutting off the bifrost (it'll sound better).. Only shut off the amp.. I'm curious how you all feel about that and what you do with your own equipment (Schiit or not).- GamingNut

Grado GH-1 Discussion
So I asked the guys at Bay and Bloor radio (Toronto) about the pads when I bought the GH1.. He rolled his eyes and said that was silly he recommended against it .. Remember he would make money by selling me the pads.. Surprising..- GamingNut

Grado GH-1 Discussion
I apologize guys.. I didnt realize all GH1 discussions were encouraged to be in this thread.. I posted something separately talking about me trying to get info on the number of GH1's they actually tried to make. Their support team remained mum on the subject.. The content of my message is...- GamingNut

Got the Grado GH1.. Love it! I asked Grado about the number they made... (no luck)
So I just want to say I pulled the trigger on the Grado GH1. I got mine from Bay Bloor Radio in Toronto. They said they had two in stock (I bought one) and they're not sure they'll be getting more in. Surprisingly they had another 3, and people bought them without auditioning them -- which I...- GamingNut

Need help picking headphones for Schitt combo
Sorry.. I should have done that.. I tend to listen to a lot rock (not too heavy metal) and appreciate good accurate bass (I dont need my head to explode). Something that fares well for some dance music would be great too. Is this enough detail ?- GamingNut

Need help picking headphones for Schitt combo
Hi there.. Just purchased a Schitt Bifrost Multibit with Asgard 2 combo.. Of course -- My few years old HD650 just died out completely on one side. I can look into repairing it however this may be an opportunity for me to get something new. I've reverted back to my trusty HD580's which...- GamingNut

Headroom Micro AMP/DAC combo
Thanks for the thoughtful reply.. I need to be careful to not get sucked into the upgrade-itis when it comes to all this. I love my HD580.. Trust me the moment it dies, I'm getting an HD650 -- but until that day, I'm loving it.. Owned it for 10 years + ! :)- GamingNut
