Whaaaaa!! :confounded:

I wasn't angry or anything - What I meant is that I should contain my curiosity until I see it first hand and understand how it works!

I am very thankful for you telling us that it works well for you!

It's ok I was just trying to make the point that anyone or anything with opposable digits could easily use the wheel, knob. And of course I know what you mean about curiosity- I was just razzing you a bit :)

The wheel looked awkward to me because it looked tiny and on the side, I thought I'm going to have to use 2 fingers to spin that little thing, but alas it works a charm with my giant thumb.

Oh and I can't wait to read what you think about the m2s!

Ok fini.

Can't wait to pick up my M2s later this week. Shall I buy a ifi iE Match right away due to high output impedance?

Also my idea was to use the M2s as standalone DAP when outside and perhaps as transport when at home. Candidates as DAC/Amps would be the usual suspects: Mojo and Oppo HA-2SE.

i also have the iEMatch. haven't tried pairing the 2 yet. but i was trying the iEMatch with my other DAPs and the improvement is there but sometimes negligible - more noticeable in quiet environments but the improvements do/will get lost in normal environment.

. Quick question about the navigation, can i jump alphabetically or i need to scroll?

We don't have alphabetical jumps, but you can use prev/next buttons on left side, to jump from screen to screen. So you can go through dozens of files/albums in matter of seconds.

Everything I've read/seen says despite the relatively high output impedance most IEMs have little to no issues with it. I'd spend a little time listening before deciding if it's something you need with you particular setup.

My plan is to just use it as a standalone DAP on the go and at the gym. I'm interested to see how the M1 and M2s compare to my Axon 7, which is one of the better smartphone when it comes to headphone audio.

Just ordered the M2S on behalf of a friend.
Looking forward to his "WOW !" impressions.

That is very nice, though I'd probably opt for the M1 for a more compact package.

BTW, can the M1/M2s be used as a DAC for an Android phone? I ran across this picture and wasn't sure if that was possible.M1 and iPhone.jpg

Sure, it totally works. We call it two-way USB and two-way Bluetooth--these devices can both send AND receive audio over these connections :L3000: (well not both at the same time, but still!)

The IEMatch reduces output volume, which necessarily means series resistance in the signal path. The effect of this on the output impedance may perhaps be reduced by adding parallel resistance, but still the end result is unlikely to be lower output impedance than the stock value of 4 ohms. The other possible problem, too-loud levels, is unlikely to be a problem with the fine digital volume control on the M2s, and hiss is negligible as reported by others with sensitive IEMs. :)

@Joe Bloggs - I was using the HiBy Link app with my M2s on Friday, and found that the app won't rotate to Landscape mode on a tablet.
I used 3C Toolbox Pro, to enable rotation, and HiBy Link crashes.

Hope other would comment if they would also be interested in a M1 style case (with belt strap) for the M2s. I think this would be superior solution over the current case, for many.

Options are always good. I for one would prefer the M1 style case or at least be able to switch to one as needed.

Just a thought.

I've got some friends who make custom leather cases, pouches (and even leather armor costumes) - so I'm going to get some custom cases made, with a protective screen cover flap, for my Shanling M1 & M2s, and Cayin N3. They'll also have D-Rings, so they can be attached and hang from badge lanyards, or belts.
