Just like many who don't believe in aftermarket cable upgrades or burn-in, I'll say...ignorant is bliss. If I've listened to the number of people telling me how bad they think of Noble K10 or Encore or other negatives, I wouldn't be enjoying both of these beautifully made and wonderful sounding iem right now.

To me, a good aftermarket cable will do wonder to the sound of your system, and I trusted my ears, and my wallet trusted my judgement to back this up. YMMV of course and that's mighty fine.

Making fun of aftermarket cables are fun...but making fun of Noble will get you bashed and banned here. Nuff said

I'm having issue with the stock tips. The medium blur stem ones are comfortable but they don't seal properly sometimes. The small red stem ones have good seal but make my ears sore after awhile. Anyone have any recommendations for tips?

There have been numerous responses to your question already in this thread. The thread search option is available in the new Head-Fi system - it is an option in the main search function (top right).
My current choice of tips is Inairs.

Uzi2, thanks for that, I didn't know the thread search function was available.

I was wondering where that thread search function went... thanks!

Adding fuel to cable discussion - Just got a new 4.4 mm balanced cable from Effect Audio "Lionheart" .. Just listening for 30 mins i can already tell the difference between DHC symbiote cable i had and this one.. The vocals seem to just shine with this and K10 bass just punches through.. Sony Wm1z - Lionheart balanced - K10 CIEM .. Marriage made in heaven ??

DHC symbiote on left - Lionheart with K1o.. BTW lionheart is so light i don't even feel it when i am listening to K10s

My review of Kaiser Encore is up! https://www.head-fi.org/f/showcase/noble-audio-kaiser-encore.22083/reviews#review-18641 Plenty of comparisons with Katana and K10 inside. As always, let me know what you'd like to see in the future, and feel free to ask me any questions!

Thanks for this review. It has answered many of my questions regarding the differences between the Katana and the Encore. I recently purchased a Katana in the classifieds as I wanted to try it out and where I live the only option is to buy used to audition. I really like the Katana (my current IEMs are 64 Audio U12s which tend to be veiled in the high end in comparison) and find I'm listening to music in my collection I haven't listened to for a long time. The high end of these is sublime. However, from your review, I'm feeling the Encore may be more suited to my tastes given your comments about the lows and mids in comparison to the Katana.

Fortunately I'll be travelling to Vancouver shortly where I will be able to hopefully audition the Encores for myself. Thanks again for a very comprehensive review.

Thanks for the kind words! Nothing will help you out like listening to them both! Katana will certainly shine on those tracks that feature the high end, but if your preferences also include a lot down low, Kaiser Encore is probably the winner, especially since it can still do plenty of good work up top.

You're welcome. Reviews are very helpful in narrowing down the choices out there.

It can get expensive, with shipping charges and potential losses in resale, to use the classies as a way to audition gear. Unfortunately many of us have no other choice due to lack of retailers in our areas. I travel to Vancouver once a year for a visit and it usually results in trips to local retailers to audition gear, much to my wife's chagrin I'm looking forward to trying out the Encore on this trip!
