    SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A

I have wm1a, I find to my ears the low gain to have a bigger soundstage and more analytical sound. High gain is more warm fuller sounding. Normal is the more realistic sounding. I use it with headphones Elears, DT 1990, Hd600 to name a few. Tho yeah maybe placebo.

    SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A

I have the wm1a + pha2a combo driving Elears, beyer dt 1990, hd 600, t50rpmk3, p7s, msr7s, beyer t51p, shure 840, akg k701, sr60, hifiman 350, momentums. Have good volume on all phones even with just the wm1a with high gain mode. When not amped, not too big diff in sound with p7, t51p and...

Audio Technica MSR7 vs. Bowers and Wilkins P7

Guys, i dont believe im saying this but i now like the p7 more than the msr7, i did some eqing wm1a boosting mids up and voila, balanced phone with just more sparkle on top. Slightly smaller soundstage sure but the way it renders sparkling treble gave it an advantage now over the msr7. Msr7s...

    Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Discussion Thread

Msr7 is my fav sounding closed can, my set is dt 1990, bw p7, fostex t50rp, beyer t51p, sr 60, k701, hifiman 350, momentums, qc35. More balanced than p7s ( p7s have more sparkle but mids recessed ) Wider soundstage than t51rp, open feeling but of course less than my k701. Can be quite near...

Audio Technica MSR7 vs. Bowers and Wilkins P7

I have both. SQ wise p7s has more sparkle, but recessed mids and sometimes overpowering bass. V shaped eq lover would like it. Msr7 is more balanced and soundstage is bigger. Easier to pick out instrument parts, the clamp is a bit tight tho, less comfy than p7s. To my tastes I prefer msr7s since...

Shure SRH 840s SQ after Bass Boosting using Android Poweramp

Hi guys,   I love my 840s and I also love the balanced imaging of the phones ( flat EQ, not that bassy ). However, sometimes you just miss that bass heavy sound or what we call "fun" sound if you know what I mean.   So i tried boosting the bass using my Android Phone w/ Poweramp w/...

why do people highly rate the shure srh840?

On topic, I have to say that the you really need a good source to fully experience the 840s IMO. Preferably high bit rate ( 320 kbps ) and of course uncompressed ( FLAC ).   These sound okay with a not so good source but sound MAGICAL with a good source. If you know what I mean. =)

Review by 'zpolt' on item 'Shure SRH840'

I do home studio recording using different instruments and this exceeded my requirements in using them as monitors and I love them!   Comfort - These are extremely comfortable, soft pads all around, and you can wear them for long hours - In my case, when i'm recording and mixing, or just...
