I'd prefer to ship to CONUS (I have no experience with international shipping), but if it doesn't sell soon and you'd be willing to cover the difference I'll hit you up. Thanks.- westermac

Up for sale is a barely used Garage1217 Project Sunrise III w/acrylic chassis. Original A/C adapter also included. For an additional $30 I can include an Acopian LPS which tightens up the bass quite a bit (please note it doesn't come with any leads and you would need to make them). No tubes...- westermac

The Inaugural ZMFestivus 2018: Chicago 12/9/18
Normally I don't mind the wind, or the cold (I live up in Milwaukee) but Chicago is the only place where I've felt like the wind was intentionally slapping me in the face. That said, this sounds like lots of fun. Will try to make it down!- westermac

Astell&Kern XB10 Extreme Bluetooth Adapter
I've been using mine in my car with a Pixel 2 XL for about a month and have been very happy with the sound quality on aptX-HD; it sounds as good as the CD player to me. My only minor quibble is that it doesn't auto power on with USB power since it wasn't specifically designed for car use, but...- westermac

Astell&Kern XB10 Extreme Bluetooth Adapter
Has anyone tried to use their XB10 while charging? I'm very curious because I would like to use it in my car as well as for headphones, and the battery life is kinda... short.- westermac

Hifiman Edition X
So, long story short I've had a nice leather head strap left over from the Audeze carbon fiber headband, and one day last week it occurred to me how similar the shape was to the plastic perforated strap on my HE-X. Hm. Caution to the wind I went ahead and disassembled the sliding mechanisms on...- westermac

Hifiman Edition X
That's good to hear, thanks! I've finally gotten past the notion of everything having to be "accurate", as long as it's reasonably natural sounding and enjoyable then who really cares :) I'll probably see what I think of the v1 pads first, and if I think they could use some livening up I'll get...- westermac

Hifiman Edition X
Hey all, I've been enjoying the heck out of my LCD-X (w/Sonarworks) but need to free up some funds so I bought a HEX v1 that I'm hoping will be an acceptable "downgrade". For those of you who have owned/heard both the v1 and v2, do you think the $80 v2 pads are a worthwhile upgrade? How do they...- westermac

Schiit Mjolnir 2 Listening Impressions
I actually recently parted with my Mjolnir 2 as I found it overkill for my LCD-X, which I found pretty much as enjoyable from the headphone output of my audio interface (blasphemy, I know). Were I spending most of my time with the HD800 I definitely would have kept it, however. I never...- westermac

Audeze LCD-X
Long story short the X plays best with powerful solid state amps, or more neutral hybrid tube amps (OTL amps excluded as mentioned previously). Many people are finding the Jotunheim to be an excellent pairing with the X, lower price point aside. I was planning on getting one myself but have been...- westermac

Audeze LCD-X
I've done a lot of research into LCD-X > Amp pairings and haven't come across anything on the Crack. I'm assuming it's because OTL amps delivery very little power to low-impedance planars like the X; they're generally much better suited for high-impedance dynamics.- westermac
