AfterMaster Pro technology make your audio sound incredible
I'd love to hear audio that has been processed by this device 10 times in a row. Whatever compression/EQ/etc is going on will rise to the front after being applied a buttload of times (unless there's something preventing this in real-time)- Vkamicht

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
Can anyone that's had these for a while tell me if the ear pads flatten out as much as the DT880/990 velours do over time? I heard they have a different type of pad, and my main gripe with my DT's was that after a couple months they flattened out enough so my ears touched the inner foam and it...- Vkamicht

The most reliable/easiest way to EQ headphones properly to achieve the most ideal sound (for non-professionals)
Thank you for writing this. "Neutral/accurate" sound (as you put it) is probably the only thing I've heard that isn't boring, to my ears. Nothing is under or over-represented. Music "just is." I'm consistently every day, wowed by my system, and disabling my EQ makes my HD-650s sound like a...- Vkamicht

R2R/multibit vs Delta-Sigma - Is There A Measurable Scientific Difference That's Audible
Hi all, really interested in this topic and I've read a number of pages but I had a question I haven't seen brought up (maybe missed it) - are there any level matched analog recordings showcasing the difference between these two types of DACs? I am going through inner turmoil because I'm a...- Vkamicht

How and why do members fall in love with second tier headphones?
16 pages in less than 2 weeks, nice. Anyway, here's my thoughts on this subject. I was able to EQ my DT-990s to pretty damn near flat, through trial and error over the course of a few months, resulting in what sounded to me like the most realistic sound I've heard from a headphone. I had both...- Vkamicht

Why are so many people against equalization?
I disagree, but keep in mind I'm talking in the context of headphones not loudspeakers. I think what people here describe as "clarity and detail" are exactly what you can achieve with personalized EQ. Soundstage not as much, that's dependent on other factors. I think texture means different...- Vkamicht

Where to buy T1 replacement ear pads
I asked Beyerdynamic directly and they told me the 'black 880/990 pads" are the ones used for the T1. Yet in my very brief time with the T1, I could have sworn that the pads were definitely thicker than the 880/990 pads and it made sense to me at the time considering the design of the phone. I'm...- Vkamicht

Why are so many people against equalization?
I believe this is the main reason for most, though I find it kind of weird... I've never heard a headphone that didn't impart a serious (usually undesirable) character onto the sound. If you want to hear the closest to what was recorded, "EQing away" the headphones/equipment is pretty...- Vkamicht

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**
Got my HE-400 yesterday from the black Friday sale and here's my impressions so far. Keep in mind that I might be coming at this from a different angle than most - I rely heavily on EQ to shape all of my headphones to remove unnatural peaks and neutralize the sound as best as I can. Coming...- Vkamicht

How to equalize your headphones: A Tutorial
Long time equalizer and supporter of this thread here. I've been in hardcore mode the last few days: What you're looking at is part of my sound card's built in EQ settings. I have fb2k set up to route the L/R channels to their own ASIO channels. With this, I can set up EQ for each...- Vkamicht

The Holy Grail...
Agreed with everything said about EQ making a big difference. I actually don't use a single sweep, but an application that lets me move a slider between frequencies how fast or slow I want. It's in the headphone EQ thread linked earlier. Another interesting thing to note is that I made my curve...- Vkamicht

I Don't Understand You Subjective Guys
Quote: Probably one of the best posts I've read here. People that say there's something-in-the-music that you just can't measure are trying to justify their purchase, and probably use that line to their angry spouse/gf/parents as well. Don't be so egotistical - our ears suck. They suck...- Vkamicht
