I just compared it to my buddy's Dragonfly DAC.  I thought they both sounded just fine...although I'm 54, and no longer have the ears of a younger, more opinionated, audiophile!!!

Its winter in Boston, so I love the "earmuff effect" and fantastic sound provided by my Grado 60's.  When I go out for a walk, the X3/Grado combo is VERY beguiling....

Ooops...FW is firmware.  Its the latest X3 DAC-related firmware.

"FW?"  What is that?  Okay, deleted everything...re-downloaed firmware, and this time I get a message that I got three days ago: "Program is already is running."  But nothing happens when you plug the X3 USB cable into the laptop!  

I can't intall the driver.  I keep getting a message "Failed to read."  And now I don't know where to turn. Have re-installed everything at least 5 times...and, again, I really don't know what to do.

Okay, I have been fiddling with the DAC on my X3 for a week.  It never worked once, FIIO never responded, and I'm at wit's end.  I'm running Windows 7, it says the firmware has been updated on my X3, but there has never been any crosstalk between my laptop and my X3.  Am I supposed to install...

Well, it ain't workin' for me.  I installed the new firmware, and it does register as DAC under settings when I switch from Storage.  Then, when I plug the X3 into my Windows 7 HP laptop, am I supposed to see some sort of interaction between the laptop and the X3?  Nothing pops up on the laptop...
