Woo Audio WA5 Initial Impressions
Quote: No mine does not but apparently the newer models do along with a better amp stage with more power. And yes I would love to hear the K1000's (Anyone in Melbourne who has them?)- Tubularbells

Woo Audio WA5 Initial Impressions
I was originally looking at purchasing a Woo WA5 last August but at the time was put off by the high shipping cost and the fact that I would have also wanted the parts upgrade and better tubes which would have pushed the cost out to around 6k inc. shipping so I opted for a Red Wine Audio...- Tubularbells

The Black Metal Thread!
Altar of Plagues new album "Mammal" is a killer! There last full length “White Tomb” is one of my all time fav’s as well. Definitely worth a listen if you enjoy an slightly alternative style of atmospheric BM- Tubularbells

Audeze LCD-2 Orthos
Quote: Will be interesting to see if you manage to sneak these past customs as did mine when they arrived in Melb. last Dec. The package was clearly marked over $1000AUD in value but somehow they got through saving me a few hundred in additional fees.- Tubularbells

Speaking of cables I received my ALO chain mail cable (8') a few days ago and while its too early for me to comment on any differences one thing I can say up front is this cable sounds "louder" then the stock cable in that I previously found general listening volume position ranged from 12-3pm...- Tubularbells

What Are Some of Your Favorite Sad Songs
Here a couple of deeply emotional tracks from doom gods My Dying Bride. Defiantly not for all tastes, but if you have a broad range in music you should appreciate this. Epic stuff! My Dying Bride - The Dreadful Hours http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yx7BeIMLYE My Dying...- Tubularbells

Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn
Listening to the 2010 re-mix for the first time as I type. OMG probably played this album 1000 times in the last 20 odd years and this new mix is like listening to it for the first time again! Currently have to original 1975 mix, the quad "boxed" mix, orchestral version used in "The Space...- Tubularbells

Audeze LCD2 with ALO LUX-FEP 18awg Cable
All these glowing reviews have finally convinced me to take the plunge on one of these. Was never a big cable believer until I bought a Double Helix cable for my sen HD800s which removed all traces of treble hardness from these phones. Since then I have placed considerable importance on the wire...- Tubularbells

Betaboy, give Triptykon a listen if you haven't already. Been a huge Hellhammer/Frost fan the last 20 years and IMO Triptykon rose from the ashes of Celtic Frost to become an even greater band.- Tubularbells

Poor paint job on HD 800...
It would be hard matching the color and would have to be done via an airbrush. Luckily mine are ok but try and take extra special care treating them like they were made from egg shells which in reality you should not have to do as durability should be a given for this sort of gear (especially...- Tubularbells

Nice to see some Bohren fans lurking in this forum. Great band and while technically not a metal band still has a lot of metal elements. Also really loving Ghosts debut “Opus Eponymous” has a great production with a retro sound (recorded exclusively on analog equipment)- Tubularbells

Audeze LCD-2 Orthos
I have one of the "new" cables withthe heatshrink ends and they have been driving me crazy in terms of microphonics and stiffness so pulled the pin on an ALO cable last night. Looking forward to hearing if I detect any differences. Was never really a cable believer until I got a Double Helix...- Tubularbells
