JBL by Harman Tune110 Impressions & Discussion

Hey everyone! Just about a week ago I picked up a set of JBL by Harman Tune110 "Wired In-Ear Headphones" from my local "chain big box store." I've been looking for a good set of pocketable earbuds for a long while and I think these hit the nail on the head for only 15 bucks. These things have...

    re-coating ear pads

Hey everyone. I have a pair of headphones from the mid 90's where the coating on the earpads became hard, sticky and all flaked off, leaving the bare foam underneath completely exposed. Without the coating, the sound has become very open air sounding losing most midrange and bottom end and any...

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250ohm Impressions Thread

I just got my 770. Incredible sounding headphones. The soundstage of these is like no other headphone I've ever owned. The bass is pretty powerful too. Very punchy. I definitely wouldn't want the 80 ohm version as I've heard they're even more bass heavy.

    BeyerDynamic owners unite...

I just got my DT770 Pro 250 Ohm yesterday. I love these headphones! The soundstage is incredible on these! I'm glad I didn't go for the 80 ohm version, because the 250 has plenty of bass!

What music to test headphones out?

From what I've heard, Toto's "Rosanna" is an industry wide reference track for recording and stage setups. I figure it would be a good reference track for headphones as well.

    Innerfidelity and the JVC flats?

I actually just got my original pair of JVC flats back from my mom. I let her use em for a couple years. Still sound flippin' amazing for the $$$.

Songs that sound bad on your headphones

Just sitting here at my computer and decided to play an old Disco classic, "Fly, Robin, Fly" by The Silver Convention. It sounds WAAAY too spacey on headphones. There's absolutely nothing in the center and everything sounds like its on the sides. Several instruments have strange cross-talk...

HDMI ASUS LCD montior sound output quality?

I've had my HDMI ASUS LCD monitor for almost 2 years now. I've been using it as my DAC during that time. I've started wondering if the sound quality from the monitor is comparable to a respectable DAC or is it just mediocre?

The KRK KNS-8400: you can have it all.

I thought I had an imbalanced driver as well. I thought about swapping and spinning around the earpads and... WALAH!! Perfect stereo balance! For the first time I'm hearing soundstage I've never heard before!! Damn these are good 'phones!!!       Quote: Just keep them this time, dammit!

The KRK KNS-8400: you can have it all.

I just got these headphones and I agree, the headroom graph doesn't seem to really represent the bass of these headphones. The bass is pretty flat. It's not weak nor is it emphasized like the graph shows. I love 'em!

    The Beyerdynamic DT250 Thread

Quote: I ended up getting the Shure SRH840. Not sure what you guys think of 'em, but they sound really good. They're not exactly a flat headphone, but they have a fun pleasing sound. I tried the KRK's and they sound pretty darn good. They're very flat sounding to me. Had I not heard the...

    SRH840 impression

I just got the 840 this morning. I absolutely love them! They have very nice full detailed sound! Good soundstage too for a closed 'phone too.

    The Beyerdynamic DT250 Thread

Quote: I'm actually going to Guitar Center tomorrow and exchange my defective Beyers. I'll be trying the 8400 tomorrow while I'm there as one of my possible replacements. I'll also try the Sennheiser HD380 as well. If neither are to my liking, I'll just have GC order me a new DT250. I wish...

    The Beyerdynamic DT250 Thread

Compared to the M50's they are WAAY more comfortable to wear and definitely have a slightly warmer yet less U shaped sound signature so I can hear more mid detail. The 250 has slightly better soundstaging as well. I expected the treble to sound veiled, but they actually sound pretty clear to my...
