I see your point, like the sound card will amp it so bad, that even my current headset will sound better.   So maybe I buy the SR850 like you said, and buy the Titanium HD sound card for the time being... then when the prices go down I buy the AKG Q701.   The TitaniUM HD specs and quotes...
