Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread

Quote:   The fit is similar between the T90 and HD600. The HD600 fits me at 1-click up from the smallest size setting, while the T90 fits at 2-clicks up. The T90 has more clamping force, especially at the smallest setting. Consequently, the T90 shifts around less when you move around, and...

    DT990 vs HD650?

Quote: With something as subjective as audio, pretty much every statement is prefaced by "in my opinion" and closed with "your mileage may vary."   I just let the OP know my reasons for not liking the HD650 for rock music. What are the reasons you do like it? He needs all points of...

    DT990 vs HD650?

Quote:   Hmm, that's one reason I trust my ears more than frequency graphs. I found the HD650's to have much more bass quantity than the DT990s, but the bass on 990's was tighter with better impact.   I would agree that the DT990s are a bright headphone, but they were never sibilant...

Gamma 2 DAC vs Audio-GD DI as a USB to Coax converter?

Definitely will do a comparison, but I have a feeling it won't be much of a competition.

Gamma 2 DAC vs Audio-GD DI as a USB to Coax converter?

Ahh, I figured I can skip replacing the Gamma 2 since an extra DAC might be handy later. Guess not. Thanks for the input!

In what order would you upgrade cables?

For those whom believe in cable upgrades...   What order do you upgrade the cables, from making the largest difference in sound quality to the smallest? Notice I say "largest difference" instead of "largest improvement," since we all have different preferences, but "more bass" or "less...

Gamma 2 DAC vs Audio-GD DI as a USB to Coax converter?

I tried to a search, but to no avail, so are there any impressions out there on the use of a Gamma 2 as a converter from USB to Coax? I never planned on using the digital outs on the Gamma 2, but I was going to purchase an Audio-GD Digital Interface for an incoming DAC when I realized this unit...

Audio-GD Reference 7 - the new flagship DAC

Quote: I didn't realize that. So within the first year, repair is cheaper through AGD. Outside of the first year, shipping would be cheaper to PV. Do we know how the two compare as far as cost of actual repairs?

    Audio-gd DAC choice: RE5 versus the RE7

Haha, sounds like someone is trying to rationalize Ref 7 sound quality at the cost of the Ref 5? Wishful thinking!    Quote:

Audio-GD Reference 7 - the new flagship DAC

If you don't mind the extra wait, ordering from Pacific Valve gives you the benefit of repairs being performed in the US instead of overseas. Shipping to Chicago is almost always going to be less expensive than shipping to China. I recently placed an order for a Reference 9 through PV, and it...

    New ESS Sabre32 (ES9018) based DAC from Audio-gd....the NFB-1

Quote: Just to clarify, are you saying the sound difference between the Ref 7 and Ref 7HE is dramatic, or the difference between the Ref 7HE and the Wadia 581?

Woo Audio 3+ vs. Darkvoice 3322, which is the better amp?

I just realized the WA6 is transformer coupled amp, while the Woo 3 is an OTL amp like both the Darkvoice 3322 and 337. So my comparison doesn't really apply..

Woo Audio 3+ vs. Darkvoice 3322, which is the better amp?

For what its worth, I don't own either of these amps, but I do own the WA6 and the Darkvoice 337, and prefer the Darkvoice. I'd elaborate, but I'm not sure it'd be useful to this thread.
