using a Yulong DA8 balanced pretty good (what a soundstage!!) somehow a little too harsh IMHO so interested in a dedicated balanced amp with another DAC, Matrix Quattro for example.

I had the same feeling when I listened to a SR-307 connected to two different amps, there is an audible difference... yet I opted for the cheaper 2170 combo to start with. I read somewhere else that some people do not hear any difference between amps which I could not really believe Which amp...

Many thanks this is what I guessed, I found out what the orginal fuse is, it is a Japanese NSF ECR fuse, 1.5A 125V 4.6x16mm . Already ordered a new PSU and 250V1.5A 5x20mm fuses and a fuseholder. Is it Ok to cut off the pigtails close to the fuse but keep the existing pigtails in place and...
