HD598 is a relatively light headphone, in fact one of the most comfortable set I've owned.   Maybe look into Yuin earbuds? They don't block noise like the IEMs do. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Sound quality is mostly subjective; what sounds good to you may not sound good for others.   I enjoyed both D2000 and HD598 for music and gaming. Both have excellent soundstage. For Counter Strike I enjoyed D2000 a little more due to heavier bass response. HE grenade explosions and AWP shots...

I use Sony ZX700 all the time. It's basically a smoother version of the V6. Plus the cable is appropriately sized so that it can be used with portable players unlike most of the studio monitors.

This leads me to believe there will be fake models for every high-end headphones available in the future. We need to be more careful.

That Sweetwater site you referenced is overpriced. I've seen K240 and K271 go about $150 in person, and even Q701 is priced at mid $200s in most stores.   I can't guarantee authenticity for any of those sellers, but judging by the price alone, there's nothing suspicious of them.

I'm willing to bet OP will like Denon D2000 driven from an iPod more than HD650 on a dedicated source. It seems to me he just doesn't like the Sennheiser signature. HD650 is a very warm and romantic headphone yet mellow and sleepy at times.

Wow they're much more expensive than I imagined. Guess I'm sticking with my HD600.
