More choices ...when will it end! Pacific Valve Ming DA MC 84C07

Moodyrn,   This is a great little amp.    I have your Ming Da for sale with the tubes that you put in it.  Let me know if interested (see the for sale section).   I am just using y 2 channel system and not using this amp very much.

    burn-in experiment... (proof)

The argument that you get used to them is not correct. I have a regular system that I have listened to for years and a pair of HD 580's on loan while my new HD600's were breaking in. I did not like the 600's at first and preferred the 580's. After a few hundred hours the 600's started to...

Bass Distortion with HD600 and uDAC on some recordings.

Hmm. I'll have to try these on another system to see if the distortion is there. The Beatles recordings are outstanding. I'm not even a Beatles fan and these are so good I can listen to the albums straigth through. It seems like recordings that are this well mastered should not have bass...

Bass Distortion with HD600 and uDAC on some recordings.

First off, I don't want this thread to spread to people saying the the uDAC is a POS because "everyone can hear the bass distortion." This is very infrequent and only on certain recordings. Is anyone else experiencign this? I have a pair of Sennheiser HD600's and a NuForce uDAC. On...

Audio Myths Workshop - Voodoo Hi-Fi exposed

I remember doing some work on my computer and reading the instructions on the card that I was installing. It kept referring to installing a BUS cable to a component. This clearly did not apply to what I was doing and was wrong. I re-read the paragrpah several times and, yes, it said "BUS"...

    I just brought a headphone from a fellow head-fier here...but

I'm really glad that I sprung for the extea $50 or $75 for new phones. A good friend lent me his HD580's to try out and warned me that the pads were geting nasty. And they are. The new ones are so nice.

Anyone try padding down a T Amp for headphone use?

Sounds like it is not worth it then. Transformers may take care of the impedence matching issue, but that would be expensive. It was just a thought anyway.

    Best Build Quality Headphone?

I tend to think that the HD600's may need adjustment. Mine were really tight when I bought them, which would stress the plastic top. I completely extended the metal strips and applied pressure to the metal to adjust them. Now they fit well and do not stress the plastic. I have an old pair of...

Anyone try padding down a T Amp for headphone use?

I used a $100 tripath amp (digital switching amp) about 5 years ago for horn speakers and the results were uneblieveable for the price. There wa salso a big Buzz about teh Sonic Impact T Amp ($30). Here is a link: Amazon.com: Sonic Impact 5066 15-Watt Portable Class-T Digital Audio...

    DAC/Amp combo-ing?

Have you tried listening to just the uDAC on its headphone jack? Just curious. You may not always hear an immediate difference. Try listening to very detailed music with lots of instrument separation. Fleetwood Mac's Rumors has a bunch of good songs for this. The Door's Rider's on the...
