Introducing SilentPower from iFi - DC Blocker & GND Defender

So it turns out the culprit is my ethernet powerline adapter causing the noise. Which is unfortunate. If I unplug that and hardwire it the issue goes away!

Introducing SilentPower from iFi - DC Blocker & GND Defender

No, this is for my office setup Rotel RA12, JDS Labs Atom DAC, Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones (can hear it through the headphones also) and Focal Speakers. There is no feedback until I start using the pcoip.

Introducing SilentPower from iFi - DC Blocker & GND Defender

Hello! Thanks for the reply on such an old thread! Everything is plugged into the same power distributor. I tried plugging things into separate outlets but the issue still persisted. All of the monitors, including my own pc tower has a grounded power cable. The only things that doesn't is the...

Introducing SilentPower from iFi - DC Blocker & GND Defender

Hello, I have been having some super annoying whirling/buzzing issues through my speakers for awhile now and I simply cant take it anymore. I have two separate computers running but only one of them is plugged into my amplifier/dac. The one that isn't connected I can hear activity from the...

Getting slight feedback/interference from source to integrated amp

Its definitely an optical cable. That link you sent is helpful! I tried unplugging everything except for the pc and the amp and I still get the noise. I did find out tho that one those tiny USB Logitech Unifying Receivers was introducing the mouse noise - even though this was plugged into a...

Getting slight feedback/interference from source to integrated amp

The PC has bluetooth enabled with a few bluetooth things connected to it. There are light dimmers in the house but its old wiring and im not sure whats hooked up to what. Need to check the circuit breakers to see which outlets are on the same circuit as the dimmers. I unplugged the optical...

Getting slight feedback/interference from source to integrated amp

@Andrew_WOT @tjl5709 I tried switching to a couple different outlets and used the Hum-X with the amp and no difference... even tried the pc in the Hum-X with no difference. This is a desktop computer that I built a couple years ago.

Getting slight feedback/interference from source to integrated amp

Damn, it came back. @Andrew_WOT They are both in the same power strip but I can try to move it to a different one. For that plug that you recommended - should I plug my amp into that or my computer?

Getting slight feedback/interference from source to integrated amp

Thanks Andrew, do I plug my amp into that or my computer? Also I think I may have resolved it - I think it was due to static build up coming from one of the usb inputs. I started unplugging things and it did nothing but then I waited awhile and eventually the static interference went away!

Getting slight feedback/interference from source to integrated amp

Hello! Im currently running Windows 11 where my audio files live and I have it hooked up to a Rotel Integrated amplifier via optical cable. For some reason Im picking up some interference that I can hear with and without the source playing. I tried another amp and I also hear it. This doesn't...

i have a great integrated amp, why do i need a headphone amp?

Forgive me but I dont understand anything you just said hahaha. I need to read about this stuff because I feel like I should know at this point... Will I be good with my AKG K550 and something like the HD660s/HD800 with my Rotel RA-12? Or am I going to need to do something different? Thanks...

i have a great integrated amp, why do i need a headphone amp?

Did you mean 150 ohms or lower? I’m confused. I thought the lower it is the easier to drive. I’m going to powering a pair of B&W bookshelf speakers with the ra-12 and but more likely than not I’m going to be listening with headphones. Currently I have a pair of AKG K550 which are rated at 32...

i have a great integrated amp, why do i need a headphone amp?

I know this is a 2 year old thread but I just ordered the RA-12 and im curious what the OP ended up doing. I dont really have heavy to drive headphones but I do plan on using this with headphones quite a bit. I'll be using playing music from iTunes (on my PC) through a TosLink cable connected...

Help me find a good replacement for my AKG K550s ~$400

Hey guys, I've been loving my AKG K550 for about 6 years now but the thing is literally deteriorating. I found a great replacement for the ear pads but the headband is shot and not exactly replaceable. I spent about an hour and a half removing it and cleaning the residue off of the metal band...
