REVIEW TRAVAGANS RED WITH BLACK UPGRADE POWER SUPPLY

I believe the Opera attempts to emulate a warm, round tube sound. It does so at the expense of smoothing detail. Sharp definition and detail is a strong point of the Red. The synergy between the Red and Senn 650's is very good, as is the synergy between the ASL MG HEAD OTL MKIII and Senn's...

1/8 TRS -to- dual 1/4 TS cable?

Yes if you have stereo output from your soundcard. I was looking at this cable for my Presonus Central Station and have the same cable brand that is TS to RCA terminated.

[Impression] FiiO E7 (warning: lot of pics!!!)

Thanks for for taking the time to post this review as soon as possible as I am sure many have been waiting. Well written with good comparisons so we get a relative ranking of sound quality which is hard to do with the written word. When did you find out the chipset on the E7 amplifier was...

    FiiO E1 + E7 (speculation-no-more) *now guest-starring: E9

I have written many reviews here and appreciate your honesty. It is obvious to me you care about our community enough to take the time to post reviews and updates and I appreciate it. The new Fiio is one of the most anticipated portable amps to come around here. There may be a communications...

Strange volume boost on E5 amp

I don't get this on mine either. However some others have commented that this is an "undocumented" feature. They claim there is a boost in both treble and bass when the bass switch is moved halfway between off and bass boost.

    Mini-Review: iBasso T3 portable amp

I have to be honest, that while the T3 is cleaner than the E5, I really have to be seriously listening to hear and appreciate that cleaner difference. And depending on the 'EQ' setting you use on the E5, it can sound a bit fuller and warmer than the T3, to me. The 4 gain settings of the T3...

Which Tubed Headphone Amp to buy?

Here is another vote for the ASL MkIII tube amp with the Sennies: One of the best synergestic pairings I have ever heard and I have heard a bunch.

how to recognize a "new" Denon AH-D2000 ?

Is there any evidence that, in fact, Denon HAS changed the D2000 cable over to the cable that is used in the D5000? Perhaps those who got the "stiff" older cable received old stock, which is what I want to avoid.

Does anyone have information regarding how to tell if you have the "new" Denon D2000 or if they have an upgraded cable?

    Today's amps vs. "yesterday's" amps

"....a maxxed out PPA gets no love these days." This is a great thread. It seems like a short period of time ago that one of the best choices was a Pimeta from one on a few builders on this site. Life has gotten much better with competition from the China builders. These days I am...

How to resurrect a Bada PH-12

I believe drarthurwells has taken the time to post detailed instructions on how to replace a blown mosfet. This is a common problem with the PH-12 due to removing a tube without waiting 24 hours for ALL the power to dissipate. I use my PH-12 all the time and it has proven to be very reliable...

    The Return of the ER-4S

Hi Pat, Looking forward to your experienced review. Glad to see you still having fun and enjoying this hobby and music. Once one gets used to the different perspective of the ER-4S soundstage, they become keepers for many trained ears on this site. As with many IEM's, I think they are...
