To Mod or Not To Mod - D2000, Beyer 770's and Senn 598

@Malfunkt I'm going to have a listen to this when I get home tonight, it looks interesting...I love finding new more music like the stuff I've been listening to. Especially with cans like these, it makes finding new bands a real treat. Thanks!

To Mod or Not To Mod - D2000, Beyer 770's and Senn 598

I'm really glad you guys chimed in on this...I was eyeing up the Fostex TH-X00 Purplehearts but if it's basically the same thing as what I have, I'll keep my money close. I just need to patch a small issue with my SOHA but I'll just enjoy the Denons for now until I can try out some open backs...

To Mod or Not To Mod - D2000, Beyer 770's and Senn 598

Thanks for chiming in... That's interesting to know that it would essentially drown out the "fun" in them. Hmmm...I'd really like a place near me to have a "headphone bar" that I could go A/B live to see how things hear. Maybe I'll wait and see....I don't want to lose the fun in these things...

To Mod or Not To Mod - D2000, Beyer 770's and Senn 598

Dang, those are pretty look cans. So are the HD's. Though I think with something of the level of LCD-2's, I'd want to hear them in person considering the "tier" of sound they are. Considering that I have the amp power I might look into the Senns. Might be worth saving up a bit for a "next...

To Mod or Not To Mod - D2000, Beyer 770's and Senn 598

So I have a birthday around the corner...and so I just asked for some $$ to put towards some headphone gear. Now I'm a bit torn...I have some delicious D2000's that I love listening with, I have two decent amps (SOHA II and a Mamba D4) so it's not that I need to invest in amp's per se... I love...

Moving from D2000's to something new

Hmmmm...yeah the explosion side of things, I've never really had such a feature other than when I connect the computer to the giant stereo in the living room, so I could live without that. I may opt for those for gaming then. Though if the M50x's have the firm/sweaty style pads....I may opt...

Moving from D2000's to something new

I thought you might be talking in terms of USD but it turns out I can get each for $150 a piece in CAD from Amazon. That's actually pretty exciting...considering I spent $220+ on my D2000's which I was somewhat happy with. They were comfortable but...they never seemed to fit quite right. How's...

Moving from D2000's to something new

Thanks for the breakdown you guys, appreciate it. I've always been curious of the ATH-M50x's, I might give that a go...as I can always manipulate the EQ a bit if the bass is slightly overwhelming. SRH1540's look stunning, unfortunately way outside my budget range. I think the highest I'd be...

Moving from D2000's to something new

Hey folks, Looks like my D2000's finally kicked the bucket. In that the holding screw that is long obsolete bust off and I just don't have the patience to try to make them fit right anymore. My studio cans (Shure's) also are broken (headband). So, with that in mind I'm in the hunt again for...

Denon D2000 - Looking for Parts

I didn't even think of just transplanting the cans into other headbands or checking out the DIY section. Been a few years since i camped out in here...thanks for the direction. I'll see if anyone has any ideas. So far my "solutions" haven't made them very comfortable to wear just yet.

D2000 Headband repair (or transplant cans)

Hey guys, so my beloved D2000's pin (the part that attaches the cup to the hangar) snapped off. I've had a look at it, it seems to be a bit of a gamble to machine a new part like that considering it's such a funny shape. Tried a few "quick and dirty" fixes...but they just didn't fit right. Have...

Denon D2000 - Looking for Parts

Thanks so much for the link...it sent me down a rabbit hole to eventually find out that a couple years ago they sold completely out of replacement parts (specifically the screw I'm looking for). There is a few other misc parts available...but I've been told that I should be looking at just...

Denon D2000 - Looking for Parts

I'm at a bit of a loss on where the best place would be to post this, so I'm going to drop it in here. The other day, I had my D2000's sitting up on my table when my son came roaring through my room. Sure enough, he clipped the cord and down they came on the floor. The tiny little pin that...

    SOHA II Builders Thread

Just hoping someone might have some insight here...   I finished up my case, got all my grounding in place, I still have my 41v on one channel and 37v on the other channel, but I should be getting some audio output all the same though I would think right?   That's the problem now, I have...

    SOHA II Builders Thread

I have a aluminum Hammand but I haven't mounted the RCA's yet...so I dunno if that's the issue. I should just get the holes drilled & get the star ground dropped in to at least to see if sound goes through.   Though the voltage thing is driving me friggin bonkers...
