[review] NuForce HP-800: "Fat bottomed girls, you make the rockin' world go round!"

Anyone ever try removing the glue in the two glue'd baffles? I would imagine this would increase bass but maybe also increase detail?

    1964 Ears

Hey guys, anyone have a suggestion on stock cables other than 1964's that work with these? My cable are going out on mine and I need to replace it, however I'd like to consider a larger brand's cables (Westone?) and, ideally, have an in-line mic. I saw in the thread that somebody was using...

Headphone with 3.5mm jack for V-moda BoomPro

Wish there was an easy cheatsheet of headphone cable sizes...   Anyways, looks like there's also the older MDR-1R and Audio Technica ATH-MSR7?   Its really annoying that I have to resort to doing Google Image searches on the cables for different headphones to visually compare the sizes of...

Headphone with 3.5mm jack for V-moda BoomPro

Hey guys, at my current job I work in a relatively noisy environment and also frequently need to take client calls. I need great headphones with good isolation for buckling down and focusing on work, but also an excellent microphone for calls (its critical that this is good quality as I'm...

    SRH840 impression

Anyone else surprised that Null Audio and all the other boutique cable makers haven't made a replacement cable for the SRH840 yet? It's both an obvious high-end headphone to recable, and due to it's design it seems like it would take incredibly little time to develop a simple replacement cable.

    iPhone 3GS LOD volume equivalent?

Why would that be bad for my IEM's? Impedance issue?

    iPhone 3GS LOD volume equivalent?

I'm considering purchasing an LOD (probably Sendstation) for my iPhone 3GS. Can anyone tell me what the LOD volume level is like, especially as compared to the iPhone's headphone output? Currently when I use my Triple.Fi's I run my iPhone at around 3 clicks above 0 volume. Would I get similar...

    iPhone 3Gs ALAC sample rate / 24-bit

Is dbpoweramp's 24-bit limitation on the FLAC side, ALAC side, or a general 24-bit issue?

    iPhone 3Gs ALAC sample rate / 24-bit

I've heard that sample rates should be converted in equal multiples (i.e. 96k --> 48k; 88.2k --> 44.1k). Can anyone confirm this?

    iPhone 3Gs ALAC sample rate / 24-bit

Good info! Yes, I do with the Beatles In Stereo was at a higher sampling rate... I wonder why they didn't at least do 48khz instead of 44.1? I know it is a minor difference. I was just about to attempt the 24-bit conversion in dbpoweramp, thanks for saving me the trouble!

    iPhone 3Gs ALAC sample rate / 24-bit

I have a sizable collection of high-fidelity FLAC music, much of which is 96khz/24-bit rips from a friend's vinyl setup. When converting the FLAC's to ALAC for iPhone 3Gs playback, what is the maximum bit-depth and sample rate I should use? I read the iPhone can only play sample rates up to...

    Srh 840 Questions.

My iPhone 3GS drives the SRH840's easily, and I listen with the volume at 50%. I tried my 840's powered from my Marantz receiver and the difference between that and the iPhone output is definitely marginal at most.

Moving from Shure SE 530's to Full-Size Headphones, Need help please = )

For what it's worth, there is a massive difference in price between the HD650 and the SRH840. Even more massive difference in noise isolation. That said, the HD650 is certainly within your budget!

Moving from Shure SE 530's to Full-Size Headphones, Need help please = )

It seems like Shure developed the SRH840 as roughly a full-size version of the SE530, and the sound signature is similar. However, it certainly is not as clear as the SE530. Moving from my Triple.Fi 10's to the SRH840 I found the difference in detail took some getting used to, but I eventually...
