Anyone else surprised that Null Audio and all the other boutique cable makers haven't made a replacement cable for the SRH840 yet? It's both an obvious high-end headphone to recable, and due to it's design it seems like it would take incredibly little time to develop a simple replacement cable.

Is dbpoweramp's 24-bit limitation on the FLAC side, ALAC side, or a general 24-bit issue?

I've heard that sample rates should be converted in equal multiples (i.e. 96k --> 48k; 88.2k --> 44.1k). Can anyone confirm this?

My iPhone 3GS drives the SRH840's easily, and I listen with the volume at 50%. I tried my 840's powered from my Marantz receiver and the difference between that and the iPhone output is definitely marginal at most.

For what it's worth, there is a massive difference in price between the HD650 and the SRH840. Even more massive difference in noise isolation. That said, the HD650 is certainly within your budget!
