The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Currently i'm using it on an Audio-gd phoenix and sometimes on a V200 with the dac being a V800. They both have a reputation for being smooth but if the recording is bad you will hear it and i think that is more important then music type. The foam mod if done well really enhances the experience...- Subsequence

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Agreed on the T-1, it just sounds confused and it causes fatigue in minutes for me. I guess my ears don't like treble peaks and ringing. I love the HD800 though but it needs the foam mod otherwise it starts to fatigue after a while.- Subsequence

Charleston Cable Company Headphone Cables and Interconnects
Just received a canare HD800 cable and it's solid and well made. I went from SE stock to balanced and the improvement is quite noticable, no more nasty spc sound and being balanced adds up to a nice improvement. -

"Please Stop 'Burning In' Your Earphones"
I wouldn't be surprised if burn-in is something manufacturer's came up with to keep people from returning stuff straight away. And then they either adjust to the sound or are past their return date.- Subsequence

Damage my right HD600 driver, opinions appreciated
Well this is the way i fixed mine atleast but perhaps you can try it with a straw and sucking it out? Dunno if that work's but i guess it's worth a shot, sound wise i heard it didn't sound right that's what led me to notice the dented cone. Can't really remember what the change in sound was...- Subsequence

Damage my right HD600 driver, opinions appreciated
You can fix it yourself, just get something like a q-tip and wrap some tape around it with the sticky side outwards. And gently try and pop it back out by adhering it slighly to the dented part and then pull it out. Whatever you do though do NOT use something like a vacuum because there is a...- Subsequence

HD800 vs HE500
The pleather pads are somewhat more comfortable but after a while they start to hurt as well. Same problem as you; pressure above the ears, the best pads comfort wise are the T1/DT-990 pads. They also sound better then the stock velours but the best were the jergpads for pure sound quality. But...- Subsequence

HD800 vs HE500
Looks like i will have the chance to do a comparison soon since i'm fed up with the HE-500 comfort, i did my fair share of headband bending and i don't want to change pads because sonically i really like the jergpads. So i'll probably go check out the HD-800 again tomorrow, first time around a...- Subsequence

New! Focal Spirit Pro?
Interesting, i'm a big fan of their solo6 monitors. How's the isolation on these? Also are the pads and cable replaceable without voiding the warranty? Looks like an upgrade to the DT-150 which have some areas i'd like to see some improvement on. Edit: seems the cable is replaceable with a non...- Subsequence

= Hifiman HE500 & HE400 Jergpad Mod v2.5 =
Yeah that's what i figured, so after some bending it seems a bit better already. Also i went ahead and used some oil to loosen up the joints and it seems to help as well.- Subsequence

= Hifiman HE500 & HE400 Jergpad Mod v2.5 =
Ok i'll give that a shot, hope this will help because i had this phone since early this year and recently it has become more of a problem. But that might be because i lost some of the padding on my head since i started living a bit healthier hehehe. Thanks Jerg!- Subsequence
