Reviews seem to differ on this though. The aforementioned ljokerl review post lists them both as 8/10 for value, and only fractionally different on sound. Although I would go for Gold rather than Copper, as I prefer a bass heavier sound.- SteelRattus

Both seem to get similar reviews though - at least as similar as it's possible to compare. Both are similar prices as well: £190 for the Monster Pro Gold with ControlTalk, and £199 for the Sennheiser IE8 with iPhone remote (prices from Amazon.co.uk). I'm surprised the Sennheiser isolation...- SteelRattus

Monster Turbine Appreciation Thread
Yep, brain failure. Adding "box" into the search turned up something like this http://www.touchmyapps.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/HP-Review-Monster-TPG-package.jpg- SteelRattus

Monster Turbine Appreciation Thread
Can anyone confirm what the differences are between the standard model, Gold, and Copper? I also don't like the Gold "bling" effect, and would much rather have something that doesn't stand out. Equally though, if they offer genuine benefit... Also, what tips ships with the standard model...- SteelRattus

Is anyone aware of a site that will allow you to select type, budget and other criteria to select a range of IEMs? I'd like to start over, just to make sure I haven't missed anything.- SteelRattus

IE8... Fit?
They certainly look like the same cable behind the ear type as other Shure's. With some IEMs it's hard to find any actual shots of them in the ear e.g. the IE8's, and from a number of angles would be even more helpful. Edit: Ah, I found at least one with the IE8 cable down. It looks...- SteelRattus

IE8... Fit?
thomasdgray: I would find it uncomfortable to have over the ear, so it would have to be wire down. One of the Amazon(.co.uk) reviews said they fitted inside the ear, but I couldn't believe that so wanted to double check. Pianist: Not for hat wearing, but I do fly or lie down with...- SteelRattus

Yep I upped the budget a lot to try and get something I wouldn't be disappointed with. The DBA-02 doesn't seem to be available in the UK, at least not easily.- SteelRattus

OK, a bit of research suggests that the standard type are just that (around £130 in the UK, street price). The Gold have additional bass, and the Copper are more of a reference type (both around £200 in the UK, street price). I think the Gold with ControlTalk are the ones for me I like...- SteelRattus

Other than packaging, are there significant differences between the standard Monster Turbine, Gold and Copper? If there are differences, is it worth double the price to get say the Copper?- SteelRattus

IE8... Fit?
Hi folks, I'm considering the IE8's. My only concerns centre around fit. 1. Is there any issue wearing them with the wire down, rather than looped over the year? 2. Do they protrude much from the ear at all, when worn as per 1.? 3. Do they provide as good or similar...- SteelRattus

Hi folks, I'm looking for some IEMs in the £100 range. I already have a pair of Etymotic ER-4P's, but find them a little lacking in bass, and I cannot wear them while flying or in bed due to the protrusion from the ear. I had a (now missing) pair of Denon CH-751's, mostly...- SteelRattus
