Looking to go "receiverless" - Is this a worthy option?
Your speakers will likely become less lively going from 80 to 22 watt. Definitely give N22 a listen before getting rid of the Sony. I think you scratching the bottom with 22 watt- stalkerDk

I borrowed a friends for a few days. One late evening I was listening to Buena Vista Social Club from HDtracks, at...- stalkerDk

Logitech's Squeezebox Touch - opinions sought on quality
Me neither, I just haven't found any alternative to my mini PC . all I found are some very hi - end -priced media steamer/servers which won't offer any sonic improvement to what I have. A silent mini-pc, plus some good media software, and you will have to think "its a pc/mac" to really be bothered.- stalkerDk

Audio-gd Reference 7.1 vs Violectric v800
6moon no idea, but I guess without some credibility he would soon be out of business I am more weary about credibility in forums/ intended or unintended- stalkerDk

Best DAC from $1500 to $2500 (or so) Can anything beat the Eastern Electric Minimax?
How many other DAC's have your DAC beaten:devil_face: no serious, I agree with you about the synergy thing. I would never color the sound of my vintage Luxman amp with a tube DAC- stalkerDk

NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC Impressions
consider using a vst EQ if run in 64bit like jriver sound q won't degrade but you need a good transparent Eq, and spend some time experimenting done right and you will be surprised- stalkerDk

Pulled this out of the closet after 10 years...
Quote: Quote: downhill electronics had a Marantz SR 6005 for a few days. the sound felt kind of artificial/fake like, as if the sound had been programmed to please warm sounding, but no soul. however Virtual Surround was impressive when watching movies. I recognize some of your...- stalkerDk

A natural sounding DAC. Does it even exist?
a vinyl friend of mine checked out 4-5 dacs at home before choosing Wyred4Sound. his preferences are/was close to yours. you really should give some dacs a listen at home before deciding- stalkerDk
