FiiO K5 || FiiO's docking desktop amp
Figured it out. It's my computer. I hooked everything up to my laptop, no problem. It seems as though the poor shielding on my desktop computer, combined with all of the internal electronics (power supply, graphics card, mechanical hard drives, etc.) is causing electrical interference with the...- Splungeworthy

FiiO K5 || FiiO's docking desktop amp
Just took delivery from Amazon from All About Office. I'm using my E10K as a DAC, line out to K5's RCA inputs. Hooked everything up and am getting bad low level static. Checked all wires and everything looks ok. I know the output from the E10K is ok because I normally hook up my powered...- Splungeworthy

FiiO K5 || FiiO's docking desktop amp
This is looking really great. I have an E10k that I would like to use as a DAC with this. What is the general feeling about the E10K's DAC?- Splungeworthy

Replacement Pads for M50's
I couldn't find a decent answer to this question. Which replacement pads for the ATH-M50 are considered to have the least impact on their sound? I tried using pads for the Shure SRH-840, which were a little loose, but I found the bass was dramatically reduced, and that's not what I use these...- Splungeworthy

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.
Fabifri, Unless that first picture is of a toslink to 3.5mm female adapter that's not gonna work for me. And that PDF was way too technical for me. I was thinking of maybe going with the E09K, using adapters to allow output to the Klipsch speakers, using the E10K as a dac (line out from E10K to...- Splungeworthy

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.
Thinking of pulling the trigger on Amazon's DT990/E5 combo for $299.99, but I have a few questions: 1. Maybe I'm missing something, but the line/optical out jack-does that only accept a toslink, or can I use a regular 3.5mm jack (I need line-level audio to my Klipsch Promedia's, which uses a...- Splungeworthy

How to connect FiiO E09K to computer through USB?
Reviving this ancient thread because I have a question that relates to this topic (quite the noob question): I have an E10K-can I use that as a DAC, and hook it up to the E09K so I can use that as an amp? I'm assuming going from analog line out from E10K, using a 3.5mm male to stereo rca male...- Splungeworthy

DT990 Pro Impressions Thread
I actually returned the Beyers because the E10K couldn't drive them sufficiently, whereas all of my other phones can be driven quite well. I didn't really want to buy another amp just to suit the 990's, even though I loved their sound signature. Hard to find a headphone that can bring the bass...- Splungeworthy

DT990 Pro Impressions Thread
I just got these (250 ohm version) on an insane deal from Amazon after hearing about them for many years. I like "fun" headphones, and these are the epitome of fun. The build quality is top notch and the comfort, well, they're the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn (even more so than...- Splungeworthy

Open box at EE usually means pristine, unused condition in an open box. It's as if they just took a new one, broke the seal, and post it for sale. Search it on head-fi. Many have ordered and been happy.- Splungeworthy

JVC RX700 vs Sennheiser HD202 - which is best?
JVC is very highly regarded around here. It can be easily modded, but has a very fun sound right out of the box. Most notably a very boomy low end. For $35 USD cannot be beaten for the price.- Splungeworthy

Make sure you call J&R for the d2000-apparently they have the cheapest price on those (some sort of Head-Fi special?).- Splungeworthy
