Looking to invest in a decent camera

After reading through this thread and researching the cameras I have now narrowed my choices and would like to get some advice. I am just starting out but have a lot of ideas of what I would like to do with one of these cameras. If all goes well I will invest in a DSLR after I have mastered one...

^ Since you are in Chicago I suggest seeking out the beers of Goose Island. Also, 'tis the season so find a couple good Marzen lagers like Spaten Oktoberfest, and if available, Brooklyn Oktoberfest. Welcome to the ever-growing world of Craft Beer Zealotry! Prost!

No Three Floyds at the moment. Nor the Russian River I'm affraid. However, in the last week I recieved 4 beers (!) from the Rare Beer Club and am currently tasting the Lost Abbey Avant Garde. It is a hybrid style (as is just about everything that LA brews) of a Biere de'Garde/Saison/Farmhouse...

^We don't have everything but we do have between 700 and 750 craft beers at any given time. It helps to have 41 beer coolers, the most in New Jersey. And the selection is growing, in the next several months I hope to add another 50 to 200!
