AKG N40
Picked these up on the sale, just showed up today. They sound pretty good out of my micro bl. Still burning in, but their fit is phenomenal, and I have weird ears that can be very easily irritated if they aren't shaped right. I feel good about them so far.- Sladeophile

E-MU Wooden Series Headphones
I'll be honest, I would shell out a bit extra to get these cans playing too their price. I would strongly recommend the ifi micro. I love the combination, and you can get it for under $400 new from adorama from time to time. It's really a great dacamp.- Sladeophile

It is most likely your amp. I don't know why so many people love that amp, but I couldn't stand it, it was so lean. That would be my guess anyway.- Sladeophile

Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
These are practically open they leak so much. They are not a good solution if you want a lot of isolation. Great cans though.- Sladeophile

LG V30
I think the EL-8 Ti are pretty underrated at the closeout prices. They are very clean compared to the other cans I have, which are mostly dark and rolled off on highs. Listening to classical and jazz in particular is fantastic with them, though I am liking just about everything with them. I can...- Sladeophile

It sounds great 65 and above. Great cans for isolation. I can listen next to my wife in bed without waking her up. I agree, the cipher cable sucks.- Sladeophile

BTW, the EL-8 Titanium sounds great with this phone with an adapter. I'm surprised more people don't like these, especially since the closeout prices have been really good. Perfect work desk combo. Also, since getting oreo, does anyone else not get the message telling which mode the DAC goes to...- Sladeophile

Was this done on a version with a removable cable already or the old version without? Edit. NVM, just saw the end of your post. Is this harder to do with a pair with removable cables?- Sladeophile

Phonak pfe single BA driver is still one of my favorite iems. They disappear in my ears better than anything else I own.- Sladeophile

Brainwavz Audio B400 4-Way Quad Driver 3D Printed IEM
Just got mine. Was excited to give them a try (though disappointed they didn't come in that awesome lime green), opened the package, took them out, put one in my right ear, then put the other one in my other right ear... oh wait, I only have one right ear and got two right drivers. Well, that's...- Sladeophile

LG V30
Just had an interesting issue pop up. I just got the Brainwavz B400 from BF pre-order. First off, the monkeys sent me two right side drivers, so that was a bad surprise. Undeterred, I flipped one of them around to kind of fit in my left ear to see how they sound. They sound pretty darn good for...- Sladeophile

Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
Aside from some muffling of the sound, yes. This is generally the case for open cans, but in the case of these Senns, they are very open with very little isolation. Some open cans have more isolation, but none are built to have efficient isolation, like closed cans. The reason for this is that...- Sladeophile
