Phonak Audeo (PFE) Thread
I've actually just been washing my grey filters in warm distilled water when they seem like they have changed in sound or particularly when a set of filters makes each ear sound different. After washing both ears sound identical again and everything sounds as crisp as a fresh pair of grey...- sirmasterboy

The All-New WA7 Fireflies from Woo Audio
FWIW I am seeing this exact same behavior on any PC I use my WA 7 with. I bought mine in August 2013 but the issue didn't start until a few months ago. I have to let the WA 7 warm up for many minutes before it will finally show it's DAC to the computer. This happens whether or not drivers...- sirmasterboy

WOO-HOOOO... WA7 "fireflies"!!!
I don't know if that really describes my problem though. The LED definitely still works. It always work for about 10 minutes then goes out for about an hour and then comes back on and stays on. Every single time I go to use the WA7 this happens exactly like this. I really do wonder...- sirmasterboy

I didn't either, until it went out... Obviously it's good aesthetic design if people can't really tell.- sirmasterboy

WOO-HOOOO... WA7 "fireflies"!!!
Well, If I wasn't a Woo Audio customer for life before I am now! Mike Liang of Woo just informed me that they will be repairing my LED free of charge despite that my warranty is just over 2 months past. He said they want my WA7 to look gorgeous when in use. Now I will order some EH...- sirmasterboy

WOO-HOOOO... WA7 "fireflies"!!!
I'm not sure what a tube heater coil is. Sorry I am a noob with tubes. https://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pws=0&q=wa7+led+enhanced+tube+glow From what I can tell, my WA7 has an orange LED directly at the base of each tube socket which is what is responsible for 99% of the orange...- sirmasterboy

WOO-HOOOO... WA7 "fireflies"!!!
So I've had my WA7 for a little over a year and it seems to have developed a cosmetic problem. I was wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this or has any suggestions. Basically what happens is about 10-15 minutes after powering on my WA7, the left LED (that's under the tube...- sirmasterboy

Phonak Audeo (PFE) Thread
Quote: They said it's shutting down in March, but I was able to order my audio filters on April 2nd still. I think it says they will remain selling until stock is depleted.- sirmasterboy

Phonak Audeo (PFE) Thread
Got some good news for PFE owners. So I just ran into the problem of my grey filters becoming "worn out" or whatever seems to happen to them after awhile. Basically where they seem to become muffled and huge channel imbalance. This was my second and final pair of grey filters and...- sirmasterboy

Sennheiser Orpheus has blown my mind!
I was also so lucky to be able to attend CES as well. I was really excited to get a chance to hear the HD800s as I have not had the opportunity yet. I went into the middle room and started with the HD700s and then finally the 800s. I was actually about to leave when I turned around and my jaw...- sirmasterboy

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!
I understand that more bits doesn't mean higher quality. It's obvious because DSD is only a 1bit signal yet it's much higher fidelity than 16bit CD. My question to this is how does a 1bit DSD recorded stream compare then to these 16bit or 24bit streams. Direct Stream Digital - Wikipedia...- sirmasterboy

USB to Digital Coax 24Bit?
Yeah, the creative was everything I needed until I found out I can do pass-through via HDMI and Optical so my receiver can do the decoding.- sirmasterboy

USB to Digital Coax 24Bit?
Is this not 24bit? DTS 96/24 DTS 96/24 allows the delivery of 5.1 channels of 24-bit, 96 kHz audio and high quality video on the DVD-Video format. Prior to the invention of DTS 96/24, it was only possible to deliver two channels of 24-bit, 96 kHz audio on DVD-Video. DTS 96/24 can also be...- sirmasterboy

USB to Digital Coax 24Bit?
I guess I realize that it isn't a simple task to convert USB to SPDIF. The difficult part is reducing jitter and dealing with the full 24bits on USB. What I guess I meant by simple was no A/D or D/A converting. I figured it would be simpler and cheaper if it didn't have to convert between...- sirmasterboy

USB to Digital Coax 24Bit?
After some more playing around I found my solution and I'm closing this thread. It turns out I can hook my Laptop to my TV via HDMI and hook my TV to my Receiver via Toslink and enable SPDIF pass-through on my Laptop and the bit stream AC3 or DTS passes right through my TV to my Receiver...- sirmasterboy
