Earsonics SM3 Appreciation Thread - Third Time is a Charm?

Does anyone have recommendations for some different tips for the sm3v2?    The stock bi-flange work well, but They are just a TAD too small for my ears, and getting a good seal is rather difficult. I think the sound is great with the stock bi-flanges but I need something with a little bit of...

The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.

Just performed some of the mods on my newly received 400's. Removed the back of the driver and added a small piece of old pajama bottoms (thin cotton), and used some green painters tape on the top surface. Also did the Q tip mod!   All is well. Not a HUGE difference, but then again, I only...

The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.

Just ordered my pair yesterday, should be here tomorrow night. I plan on doing some mods. Could someone explain/link the Q tip mod to me? I can't seem to find it anywhere...   Also, is there anywhere I can buy some of the recommended pads in the U.S. for a decent price?   Thank you very...

    Triple.Fi 10 bass-driver fail.

Common sense tells me that they wouldn't fix a driver. That isn't really what they do, is it? They merely remove drivers from one shell and put it in another, pretty straightforward. I would send it back to the manufacturer.

Earsonics SM3 Appreciation Thread - Third Time is a Charm?

The sm3 was my first step into the high end audio world, coming from the Hifiman RE-ZERO's which I love. As such, I really have nothing else to compare it to but I'll give it a go. For me, coming from the RE-ZERO, this IEM was like a Godsend lol. Bass was ridiculous (in a good way) and a huge...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

I think that's true to a point. I'm not one big into conspiracy theories and whatnot but in think there are definitely some employees or people on payroll that have some leverage around headfi. That's not necessarily bad though because there are still many people who are somewhat unbiased... Or...

    Need Headphones for certain genres!

Hmm...maybe some Hifiman RE-0's or RE-ZERO's? I could be entirely wrong here, but from what I've heard, these work great for classical music. I have the RE-ZERO, and I listen to a lot of progressive rock/metal which is about the closest to classic/orchestras as I get and they're amazing. I'm...

So, are you looking for over the ear headphones or are in ear monitors an option here?

best earphone for in ear ?

Would have to agree with both of these users! Seems like the x10's are slightly v-shaped and have some good bass emphasis while being very small and comfortable from the threads I've seen. Pull the trigger!

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?

Thanks for the help. Gonna try and snag a pair tomorrow. I've been drooling over the sm3's for awhile now, seems like exactly what I'm looking for.
