I have the same problem too... sometimes the right channel doesn't make sound until i bang the earcup a few times. it's sad =(

I compared pro700mk2 to m50 side by side before, and I like the m50 a lot more because the sound is so much clearer.

where did you buy your ATH's from? maybe they were defective?

I was in the ATH flagship store in taiwan 4 months ago. I saw these, but i don't remember them being more expensive than the regular 700mk2. I could be wrong, but the price will probably go down in a few months when the US actually has more stores selling them
