KRK 8400 - No Bass?
Quote: You, sir, are very to the point. Have you had a similar experience with 8400s? Just looking for other people's experiences, as well. If I got a weird pair, I could maybe order another. (I probably won't, but I am curious. That frequency response graph doesn't come close to making...- SecondZephyr

KRK 8400 - No Bass?
Just bought a pair of KRK 8400s. They don't feel bad on my head from my initial listening, and they seem like they might be nice for wearing around a college campus. Only one problem - they have pretty much no bass. Now, before people start accusing me of being a bass-head, this is coming...- SecondZephyr

KRK KNS-6400 or 8400?
Hey everyone! So I'm looking for a pair of closed-back headphones to compliment my open-back Audio Technica AD700's (which I found out about through looking around on Head-Fi - thanks, guys!). I'm thinking of using the AD700's as a pair to wear around at home, and having the closed-back...- SecondZephyr

Android-fi!
But see, the weird thing is that the Rockbox for Android port that's in development (with builds available online) has way more than 15 increments. The only reason I don't use Rockbox is because the GUI is really convoluted and not fluid, and it crashes here and there. It makes me think that...- SecondZephyr

Android-fi!
Thought this would be the right place to ask this: Is there any way to make the volume up/down increments in Android smaller? I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate - and I don't know if this is the same for all Android devices, but there's only 15 increments from muted to full volume. That's not...- SecondZephyr

Games With Fun Local Multiplayer?
Quote: YES! I stinking love Kirby Airride! City Trial just doesn't ever really get old. :D Haven't hear of Jojo's - might have to check it out. And yeah, I own some Mario Party games, but none of the N64 ones, actually. Is there anything really distinct about them compared to the...- SecondZephyr

Games With Fun Local Multiplayer?
It's so hard to find some that you haven't played before anymore! Current gen has been so into online multiplayer, but it seems a lot of games coming out now have forgot just how much fun getting a bunch of friends over at your house and playing together on one TV can be. Suggestions? Any...- SecondZephyr

Transients, Bass, Headbands, IEMs... It All Hurts
Thanks for the in-ear suggestions guys, but I think I'm going to stay away from IEMs for now. If/when I do try another IEM, the Vsonics do sound like they'd be pretty good (if they fit well), but I think they're a bit out of my budget right now... I decided to start looking for another...- SecondZephyr

Transients, Bass, Headbands, IEMs... It All Hurts
Quote: I dunno, the last "flat" 'phone I tried - the ATH-M30s - ended up being really bassy for me. The Panasonic Slimz are often criticized for not having enough bass, and I think it's just fine on them, so that probably says a bit too. I did mess with the foams that came with the...- SecondZephyr

Transients, Bass, Headbands, IEMs... It All Hurts
This is about to drive me insane… Not too long ago, I posted here on Head-Fi asking about some issues I was having with my Koss KSC75s. I ended up deciding that they weren’t for me (see this thread as to why), and have since tried a series of new headphones, trying desperately to find...- SecondZephyr

Koss KSC75 – Sharp, Painful Treble? (Also, Major Difficulties Finding Headphones That Work For My Tastes)
Quote: Yep! You can cycle through frequencies from 5hz to 20khz by tenths of a frequency. Might not be as fancy as Sinegen, but here's a screenshot of it from Ableton's audio preferences screen: Quote: When I made the EQ while listening to a song in Ableton, I ended...- SecondZephyr

Yeah, with some bass EQ, the HD238s seem like they'd work nicely. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll consider those too. I might like the sound of Crystals, and they are pretty small, but I think I'm going to pass on an IEM for now. This made me wonder - for future reference, are the...- SecondZephyr

Koss KSC75 – Sharp, Painful Treble? (Also, Major Difficulties Finding Headphones That Work For My Tastes)
Quote: Ah, okay. That explains things a little. But still, 10 years is pretty good no matter how you look at it - for headphones at this price level, at least. Quote: I did a bit of searching for a safe site to download Sinegen from, but couldn't find one - almost all of...- SecondZephyr

Just went and read a little bit about those earbuds, and I might have to check them out. Thanks for the suggestion! It's nice to see a big name company still making earbuds - guess everything hasn't 100% gone to IEMs just yet! I think I might try leaving the KSC75s connected to my iPod on...- SecondZephyr
