Colorfly c4 question,
It looks like it has a digital in, and digital out via spdif coax, if you wanted to use it as a source on your hifi, and use the internal DAC would you need to use a headphone to RCA cable to get the analog output? What would you get if you used the digital out?- scratchy

Planning for upgrade from ath m50 to akg 550( any idea)
I can recommend thek550s if you like clean crisp sound and bass is not overly important, I own a pair and I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality considering I paid 250 for them. (Australian dollar was quite good at the time)- scratchy

Hello gang, I'd love to attend this meet. I'm newish on the headfi scene, I come from a hifi background, but my needs have changed so I will be looking to drop a chunk of coin on a good headphone setup. At the moment all I can really bring is a pair of akg k550's and a Fiio e17, also I can bring...- scratchy

Best Sound for my new akg k550's
Quote: I can testify that apming these cans greatly increased my enjoyment levels... Infact, before i bought my dac/amp (fiio E17) i found the sound a tad dull and unexciting. Sure in ipod CAN power them, but i found the sound SO much better after i bought the amp. the E17 is also a good...- scratchy

How do the AKG K550's compare to the other headphones listed in the thread?
Quote: what do you mean by lacks deep bass? its not uncommon for some of the music i like to hit around 30-40hz, thats pretty deep, i can hear that on my cans... do you mean its not loud enough? not clear enough? roll off? how "deep" can a guitar go?- scratchy
