SHURE CUTS THE CORD: RMCE-TW1 / TW2 - THE TRUE WIRELESS THREAD
Came to headfi to check if this broke people's TW2s when I saw the update. I guess I'll pull the trigger on this one, thanks!- Scorpion667

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
They have different part numbers for each: EAC64BK - black, gold mmcx connectors EAC64BKS - black, nickel plated mmcx EAC64CL - clear, gold mmcx EAC64CLS - clear, nickel mmcx It seems like EAC46 only comes with nickel plated MMCX. They don't seem to mention nickel plating on the product page...- Scorpion667

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Been using SE846 since 2014 on and off. It's my favorite sound signature of all time. Does anyone know of any proper nozzle adapters for Shure to T400/T500 size tips? I just picked up the Shure TW2 adapter and it's surprisingly good for on-the-go listening. Sony WF-1000XM4s and Airpods Pro...- Scorpion667

I used that strategy for quick sets of tips before if I was in a rush. You can also go to an Apple store and ask to try earphones. For hygienic reasons they give you a brand new pair of tips for the demo and you get to keep them. But make sure the earphone you try has the same nozzle size as the...- Scorpion667

Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
Found something interesting. To my ears the XM4 mid range sounds better with wider nozzle tips. I was using the OG Sony Silicone Tips which restrict the nozzle width (bottom left). I think the tips I'm using more are from some Beats wired earbuds I tried in there Apple Store years ago (they let...- Scorpion667

Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
I picked the Shure TW2. SE846 is a little picky with MMCX connectors so Shure would be the safest bet. Much appreciated! Regarding the AB between APP/XM4 it turns out in my drunken idiocy last night I set a global EQ in Spotify while listening to APP which I forgot about. The EQ had elevated...- Scorpion667

Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
I was unaware this exists. This is an instant buy for me, thanks! Pretty sure I'll keep the XM4s. Voices sound really good on APP but everything else is caca DSEE off however I suspect AAC is holding the XM4s back. Corporates phone so no choice till next year where I could switch to Nexus.- Scorpion667

Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
I'm so torn between XM4s and Airpods Pro. XM4s are technically better however I can't get voices to sound natural. I can't seem to hear the sub bass as clearly on XM4s as it takes a back seat to that phat mid bass. This could be a double edged sword when wearing these in noisy environments - I...- Scorpion667

Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
Been using Jabra 65T for work last couple of years. Decided to upgrade to AirPods Pro as they seem to fit my strange ears incredibly well (tried my sister's). I saw people raving about the XM4s and they were on sale $50 off on amazon so I pulled the trigger. Figured I'll A/B test and return the...- Scorpion667

AKG's New Flagship IEM - N5005
I was at the Apple store looking for some Bluetooth workout earphones I can throw around. While I didn't like any of them, they hand you a sealed pair of eartips to try the earphones with, which they let you keep (think hygene). While it's probably against the rules to encourage going to the...- Scorpion667

AKG's New Flagship IEM - N5005
I agree those sound great. If you lock them to the edge of the nozzle as I did a few pages back, make sure to tighten the filters once in a while, you can grip the tip lightly and turn it clockwise lightly. In that scenario the tip is essentially sitting on the side of the filter, they will get...- Scorpion667

AKG's New Flagship IEM - N5005
Was using the Large Fiio F3 tips. Compared to the AKG supplied Spinfit tips they have marginally better soundstage and slightly reduced bass (wider bore). TL : DR +3% soundstage, -3% bass vs the Spinfits As the eartip sealing point (widest part) is closer to the IEM body it keeps the IEM more...- Scorpion667
