Congrats on the setup. The mk3 is a nice little amp. Now go hide your wallet. It's the beginning of a long slippery slope, just saying.- schweinhund

Beyerdynamic comparison - input needed
Yeah the 770 is good for gaming. I used to tuck a labtec stick mic under one of the earpads until I got a Logitech HD webcam C510 for $40 at office max. The thing works sweet, way better than a mic mod imo. It just sits on top of my monitor and my friends can hear me just as good. Just a thought.- schweinhund

AKG K702 or Beyerdynamic DT880 (250 Ohm)
With a powerful amp with lots of current the K702's sound awesome. If you power them from a receiver even a really nice one you only get about half of what they are capable of, I tried it (out of a higher end Yamaha). I hope you enjoy the 880's they are really nice cans.- schweinhund

AKG K702 or Beyerdynamic DT880 (250 Ohm)
I would actually have to disagree. I think the 250 ohm have a pretty neutral presentation. I have owned the 600 ohm version as well and I actually prefer the 250, although I might be alone in this. I thought the 600 ohm sounded kind of dark like the HD650 but I did have leather pads on them and...- schweinhund

AKG K702 or Beyerdynamic DT880 (250 Ohm)
I own both, and they are both good at what you describe. The K702 is harder to drive though from my experience. I would suggest going with the DT880 if you are going to be using it with your receiver.- schweinhund

Any Quality Control Issues regarding the the HE-5LE?
I have to say I had issues with the HE-5 but they always made good by me. It took awhile for some things but they definitely take care of their customers. The build quality from the HE-5 to the LE is night and day IMO. You don't have to worry about any cracking and the fit and finish is a step...- schweinhund

New Hifiman HE-5LE planar magnetic headphone
Yeah I got that same message in an email. Apparently it was a mix up and they honored it for me only because of it. I was going to post the bad news on here but you beat me to it. I can see why though, if everyone wanted to upgrade it might be end up costing them quite a bit. Sorry to get your...- schweinhund
