What other high-ends are really bright (like AKG)

I ended up getting the Arya. With some brighter tubes on my lyr it is quite nice.

What other high-ends are really bright (like AKG)

Out of those, which do you think simultaneously has the deepest bass and impact?

What other high-ends are really bright (like AKG)

There are a lot of flagship headphones out there now. I am curious, what other headphones have comparably bright treble to say the AKG K812? While still keeping deepest of sub-bass of course. I tried the Audeze MX-4 and they were nice, but treble was very tuned down.

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

I am curious, has anyone attempted to mod a pair of k812's to have a balanced cable?

Beyer T5P best general purpose flagship?

The T5P is not the "best" headphone in any particular category. Others have better imaging, others have more detail, others have higher treble, or deeper bass. However the thing I am noticing with my time spent with T5P's is that nothing sounds bad. Every recording sounds very good. My really...

    Next flagship AKG? Or similiar?

Wondering if anyone keeps tracks of expected release dates from companies. I've had my K812 pro's for a while, which I think are great, but kind of what something different just to have something new. It's been years since the k812 pros came out, I presume AKG should have a new flagship coming...

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

I know this reply is a year late, didn't think this thread would turn into a thing. But the three albums (really three tracks) I play for people to show off the k812 are: Solar Fields - Movements (remastered) solarfields.bandcamp.com/album/movements-remastered Specifically the first song "Sol"...

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

So I have been going on about a year now with AKG K812 pro's and am just supremely impressed with them. Which at first I was hesitant to get them because there were so many mixed reviews and complaints about them. But they are by far and above my favorite ultra high end. I only have Audeze...

Anything smaller thats as good as Schiit Lyr + Schiit Bifrost

I have a schiit lyr and schiit bifrost. I think they are really great. But it seems kind of ridiculous to me that they are so large. If a computer can go from desktop to macbook air size, shouldn't audio tech do the same? I assume there has to be something just as good thats smaller.   I would...

    AKG K812 Pro

I have the k812 pros on a schiit lyr and schiit bifrost. I really like them except some songs have too much sibilance. Anyone know of any changes to make to my setup to lessen the sibilance?

    Gah. 'Audiophile' USB Cable.

This a quote from one of those links: "I think this was probably for a SPDIF transfer - USB data is transferred in packets whose timing has no relationship to the the end data clock or content: it is self-transferred at the USB packet's clock rate to local memory and then replayed from that...

    Gah. 'Audiophile' USB Cable.

Now this is even more out of control.   I could believe, very easily, in fact I do suspect and have experienced this, extremely cheap USB cables may conduct so poorly, or may be too long, or have interference, the voltage fluctuates in the cable causing bits to get corrupted. When I first...

    Gah. 'Audiophile' USB Cable.

Interesting, were they recording like the actual electrical signal over the USB cable directly?   Or was it being fed into a DAC and then outputting a square wave from the DAC?   Also, which DAC? Theoretically a USB cable stretched to far could get voltage fluctuations or interference...

    Gah. 'Audiophile' USB Cable.

A real test to me would be something that records the digital binary signal sent over the cable. Then you compare the two streams of binary data to see how different they are.   Theoretically there could be missing or distorted bits due to signal degradation over distance, or static...
