could anyone give there input here for me im considering buying either the X7 or the X5 3rd gen i cant find a comparison review on the two,   so i guess my question is, is it worth the extra paying for the X7?   cheers

  thanks for that headwhacker im going to try this, the earliest emcore is emCORE r674, so are you saying install this then upgrade to the next emCore try and run rockbox and if it dosent work then up grade emcore again and keep going to see if a version of emCore will work with rockbox.  ...

yeah the only other ones are quite old with bugs,   any idea what the bootstrap-ipodclassic.dfu is on the emcore releases? i vaguely remember it the first time rockboxed but that was ages ago it dosent seem to get a mention in the instructions any more.

had a look on Tarkans site and dont see the problem really, the iflash mk2 works and compatible with 7th gen and the sdxc card is listed as compatible as well, should have known this wasnt going to go smoothly it never does   dont want to get another ipod and dont know what else to try now!

from the picture on Tarkans site for the iFlash iPod CF adapter it looks like it might be possible with a little case moding to be able remove the sd card with the case on, would this be possible?

this is the ssd i was looking at its a zif not msata which i thought i should be looking at?
