Review of Meier Audio Corda JAZZ with ƒƒ-technology upgrade
I don't really see myself ever selling my Corda Classic. I've always loved its sound, and I've made it my own with various mods.- Reputator

Schiit Lyr+ : Impressions Thread
If it helps set your mind at ease, the Lyr+ is the most versatile option among those you're considering, for reasons you can probably discern. On the technical side (detail, clarity, staging, etc) it cannot disappoint. It's among the best in its price. The only variable to concern yourself with...- Reputator

Schiit Lyr+ : Impressions Thread
If I were interested in a Jot 2 I'd probably just buy one secondhand because they pop up pretty regularly for a pretty significant discount. I have not heard the Jot 2 but I have read comparisons between it and the SS mode of the Lyr+, saying they were comparable. Having said that, the SS mode...- Reputator

Looking for the best Schiit Amp and DAC to pair with Sennheiser HD800s. Jotunheim 2 with the ES DAC card? Lyr+ with Modius? Jotunheim 2 with Modius? Something else?
Seconded on the multibit options. You will really want that to max out the soundstaging depth potential.- Reputator

RAAL-requisite CA-1a Circum-Aural Ribbon Headphone is here! @HeadAmp
Definitely the closed pads muffled the midrange too much imo.- Reputator

why no multi driver audiophile headphones?
Multi-driver headphones have always been more experimental and novel in nature than anything else. Back in the 70s and early 80s there might have been slightly more of a practical reason as it was more difficult to make a single driver with true full range. The reasoning behind loudspeaker...- Reputator

Schiit Lyr+ : Impressions Thread
With the non-linear stepped volume pot, there's VERY few instances where you need low gain. I have just one headphone, a vintage pair, that I use with low gain, and that's only because it came from the era where a "headphone" was a pair of mini-speakers being crammed into giant cups that...- Reputator

New MEIER AUDIO headphone amp "CORDA CLASSIC"
Yeah neutral is how I (and most people) would describe their signature. They don't really impart much of a character of their own, but rather just a clear, smooth, wide and very dynamic sound. I never found them dry or analytical, but you can certainly do a LOT better than the AD797 opamps that...- Reputator

New MEIER AUDIO headphone amp "CORDA CLASSIC"
I never had the DACCORD, but my Corda Classic never sounded shrill like you're describing. It did get a sizeable upgrade in sound when I replaced all the opamps with Sparkos Labs SS3601s.- Reputator

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Man I'm so glad I got one of the last Jotunheim As from close-out. I'm jamming out on my RAAL CA-1as on Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters album. This is the quintessential Schiit sound IMO. Engaging, dynamic, a touch of warmth but clear and fast. I'm really groovin to it tonight.- Reputator
