for the guys who have both the he500 and zmf, do you think the zmf matches the he500 in terms of technicalities? and which one do you prefer?

I like how I went off for months from head-fi and came back and this still hasn't released lol. anyway, will be interested to see how it performs june and july. I think im now more of a headphone guy though...

    if its already in mp3 format, upconvert it to flac or wav wont help and would just waste space. you need to rip them in lossless from headstart.

Maybe try a warm sounding amp or something, I don't know. I also find my dt990 (250 ohm) fatiguing, I think my friend's dared mp5 (tube amp) tamed it a bit. You may want to look into just getting a new headphone though.

I would say your definition of hifi is exactly the same as mine, closest to good live performance as possible
