New Audeze LCD3
As did I. Felt like the X was a bit on the bright side for my ears. Could be that I'm too sensitive in that regard; I was never able to tone down the HD800 sibilance (but that's another tale).- RebelRising

And yet you won't stop beating a dead horse due to your disagreement with Audeze. Funny. The changes(if there were any) have already been made. We get it, you can't recommend them to your pals. Sorry to hear that, and thanks for sharing.- RebelRising

New Audeze LCD3
Thank you. The last time I spoke out on this issue was...several months ago? Holy cow..... What's the point of this anger anyway? To dissuade others from buying Audeze? Get over yourselves and let others judge whether or not they'd like to purchase these products. From a "fairness"...- RebelRising

And chances are, there'll be two others to take his place who prefer the new models over the old.- RebelRising

Precisely. Or outright return the thing. If the sound signature is obviously not your cup of tea, then look elsewhere.- RebelRising

Hifiman HE400 @ $299 versus HE500 @ $599
I don't think the HE-500 is $300 better, but at the same time, it's not overpriced at all. If anything, the HE-400 at $299 is just insanely undervalued (it was already a steal at its previous price point). I ultimately preferred the 500 in the long run for its more balanced signature, but I had...- RebelRising

Any substitutes for the Schiit Mjolnir?
So I've found myself in a bit of a pickle. Let's get one thing straight: I adore the Mjolnir sound. But I've been moving around a lot more than I anticipated, so portability has increasingly become a priority, and that is where the amp falls short. So I'm looking for a viable replacement! ...- RebelRising

How's the power output on that Conductor? One of my favorite things about my current set-up (Mjolnir) is how I barely need to turn the dial (around 10 o clock) for a substantial volume.- RebelRising

If all else fails, this mod looks like it'd be worth a shot: Adding an additional layer of material underneath the earpads to lift them up. Your sonic results may vary depending on the type of material and how much of it you use, but it should be easy and cheap (and reversable) regardless.- RebelRising

You might want to take a closer look at the earpads themselves. The material inside my left one was much softer and easier to compress than the right one, making my left ear touch the drivers far too much for my comfort. I contacted Audeze and they were more than willing to send me a new...- RebelRising

You're blowing that distinction out of proportion. Their "proper acknowledgment" was the release of the LCD-X, as you stated. Obviously, they felt that the LCD3 remained true enough to its sound signature (whether or not it has the Fazor technology now) that it didn't warrant an announcement of...- RebelRising

Then think about it this way. Audeze (and every other business) is going to make decisions in order to please and/or capture as large of a market segment as they can. And with each of those decisions, there probably will be fallout (or disgruntled consumers, if you will). If you fall into that...- RebelRising
