Anyone know what my old 70's phones were that looked like a copy of Pioneer SE-L40 ??

I purchased a pair of phones back in the 70's and they looked identical to the Pioneer SE-L40's but the metal parts were silver not gold. The head band was similar width but did not split in two and was black pcv covered. I sold them at a car boot years ago as they weren't the best sounding out...

STAX 303's EARPADS MANAGE TO REPOSTION THEMSELVES WHILE BEING STORED! plus they creak when wearing them plus output seems low!!

Hey no worries guys...   So it looks like I shall be using double sided this weekend and having a mess around with the tape output settings on my Quad 44. I had a brief look in the 44 manual (yes actually found one of them) but a lot of the ohm resistance stuff means nothing to me (clear...

STAX 303's EARPADS MANAGE TO REPOSTION THEMSELVES WHILE BEING STORED! plus they creak when wearing them plus output seems low...

I doubt this is news to any Stax owner on here but it is really annoying me to the point if I cannot reslove this I will be selling them!   First off is the earpads that presumably have little adhesion so they can be easily removed and replaced. This is fine if they stay in one place...

STAX 303's EARPADS MANAGE TO REPOSTION THEMSELVES WHILE BEING STORED! plus they creak when wearing them plus output seems low!!

Thanks for the help.   I will try direct inputs then but first will adjust the tape out upwards. On the Quad 44 the tape input/output is fully adjustable so should be ok. I suppose if I managed to find the manual I'd be a little wiser ;0)   I purchased the 3030 (303&313) second hand from...

HELP! I am about to buy Stax SR-303/SRM-313 Is this a big mistake?

I'm confused. So are my SR-5's like these or better. Or should I say are the SR-5's electrostatics or not? I think he is thinking of asking about £80 ($160) which is probably way too much if they are basic units?

HELP! I am about to buy Stax SR-303/SRM-313 Is this a big mistake?

Are the black and silver SR-40's any good and how old are they please? My friend has just offered me his so what should I offer if I like them assuming they are in good condition. I assume I can use them with my 313's?

HELP! I am about to buy Stax SR-303/SRM-313 Is this a big mistake?

Guess what the SRD-6 is functioning perfect too Thanks God I did not panick and send them for repair somewhere. Knowing my luck they would have done what you sugested and send them back 'repaired' and charged me a fortune! I realise there is not much to the operation of the 313 but there...

Stax SR-34 Pro system any good? eg.. Compared to SRD-6 & SR-5

I am about to buy another Stax system and was interested in the SR-34 Pro comprising of the SRD-4 & SR-30 headphones. I have some SR-5's that no longer works although I am trying to get them repaired and an assumed working SRD-6. Are the SR-30's a better sounding pair than the SR-5's and if so...

HELP! I am about to buy Stax SR-303/SRM-313 Is this a big mistake?

I have tested out the old SR-5's and you can hear the music very quiet so I assume it must be these at fault which means maybe my old SRD-6 still works but from I've been told above I cannot repair these easily so they are now scrap value only? Can anyone recommend the best standard plugged...

HELP! I am about to buy Stax SR-303/SRM-313 Is this a big mistake?

Ok I have just purchased the SRS-3030 system for £275 so I'm happy with that I noticed that the SRM-313 has both the new headphone socket and the old on it so presumably I can plug my old SR-5's into it to test them out? Thanks very much for all your help dudes
