    REVIEW: DARKVOICE 3322

I use it with DT990 600Ohm.  It drives them well and sounds great.

    DacMagic 100 Impressions

I just acquired a dacmagic 100.  Very nice little device.  I don't have much to compare it to as it is my first DAC.  I can say however that it is a vast improvement over my existing source which is my ipod input via my AV receiver which has an awful noise floor.  The sound quality from the DM...

Upgrade Suggestions for DT990 Headphone Setup?

I'm interested in a new upgrade to help bring out the best in my Beyer DT990-600 Ohm headphones.  My setup is located in my living room and uses my AV receiver as my DAC.   Currently my main setup is as follows:   Ipod > Pioneer AV AMP via proprietary cable > Darkvoice 3322 Tube Amp >...

Where in NYC to buy a headphone amp right now?

I have the same headphones.  Not sure of stores in NYC.  The Woo amps are a great match for those cans (and NYC made!) but the lowest model is $500.  You may want to look at amps by Trends, I tried one in my local shop and it was good with dt990 250. Another suggestion I don't think many...

    REVIEW: DARKVOICE 3322

I'm a new owner of the Darkvoice 3322 so I thought I'd post my experiences with it in this thread.  I bought mine locally in Hong Kong, my unit is black in color and I haven't seen any silver editions in the shops here.  I'm relatively new to the higher end headphone world and this is my first...

Amp/ DAC upgrade suggestions for DT990 600Ohm with VCAN-- $700 budget

I recently bought some Beyer DT990s and am quite happy with them.  I bought a Musical Fidelity VCAN amp to power them.  I did audition the amp at an audio shop and thought they sounded best for their price point.  My source is a Sansa Fuze playing 320kbps MP3 or FLAC files or a Marantz CD5001...

Suggestions to improve DT-990 Setup ?

My current setup is playback from an ipod connected to a Pioneer AV receiver that has a proprietary ipod line-in connection.  I am using a Musical Fidelity V-CAN amplifier connected to the tape-out connection of the Pioneer and have Beyer DT-990 headphones connected to the VCAN.    I am...

    Musical Fidelity V-Can amp

I just purchased some Beyer DT-990 600Ohm headphones and had intended to use them with my AV receiver.  I wasn't satisfied with the sound from the headphone jack of the receiver.  Something is causing it to emit a hiss and I found the sound quality was better out of my USB sound card at my...

    Power headphones with reciever?

I just recently purchased Beyerdynamic DT-990 600Ohm headphones with the intention of using my AV receiver to drive them.  The quality out of the receiver is disappointing.  There is a hiss and they sound muffled.  They sound a lot better driven by my external USB sound card (lexicon alpha).  ...

First new cans in 10 years. Beyer DT990

I do minimal listening at the PC I really intended for it to work well with my amp.

First new cans in 10 years. Beyer DT990

It's a Pioneer VSX-2016 AV.  Surely a capable amp for home theater, but I suppose its either old, has a crappy headphone jack or some kind of grounding issue..

First new cans in 10 years. Beyer DT990

Any source.  The hiss is there as soon as I connect them.  It only goes away if I press mute.
