Question on using the amp without the volume control:   My pre-amp (Audio Research) has two balanced outputs.  I am using one set to my speaker amps, and the other set run to the input of the GSX-MKII.  There is a fixed record out as well, but I would like to be able to use the remote control...

So, here is a question I have not seen asked -- what is the purpose of the LEDs on the amp modules?

One more question:  Can the old m902 remote control work with the new m920?

Can the fixed output level be set for the balanced outs, or only the single-ended outputs?

  Yeah, I'd prefer all balanced xlr, and drop the single ended inputs / outputs.  Even making the unit bigger, would be better than those crummy TRS connections. 

What is the pre-amp on/off switch for?  Does that just mute the pre-amp output while leaving the headphone amp active?

The other unexplored possiblity is the UE11-pro. I have absoloutely zero experience with an IEM -- Can anyone comment on how it might compare with my SA5000? is the experience totally different with an IEM?

So... the auction on the qualia's has ended. It seems pretty risky anyways having not tried them for sizing. Plus, if i'm going to blow my budget, I better not end up with another leaky can or I may be listening in the driveway So, L3000 if I can even get a hold of one seems the best option...
