Nobody helped me. I went with HD598CS, but nobody probably cares to hear my input on this so I wish this topic would get deleted- photek

My wallet has been getting too PHAT lately, need to throw my money away on things I dont need. lol. I have my HD650 which is my favorite amped headphone for hi-res audio, I actually listen to everything with it. But its just too power hungry for some applications I might mention I do like the...- photek

Headphone GOOD for your hearing?!?!
oh man I wish that listening to headphones and hearing loud stuff actually improved your hearing instead of hurting it, kind of like working out builds muscle and helps you lose fat which benefits you. Kind of sucks we humans have these little things in our ears that die all the time.......is it...- photek

Might Get Some HD-555's
its really not that difficult. the HD-555 is a good headphone, especially for that price. I bought my hd-555 for 140 last Christmas and I havnt regreted it. I've never listened to the 595, but I read they are similar and if you dont have the money to buy them and you have to sell your clubs just...- photek

HD-555 Question!
nah, they shouldnt hear it, especially at normal volumes. If you cranked it up really loud its possible. I believe i've heard my moms 515 from my room, i can't remember if her door was closed, and she does listen to it really loud (she has bad hearing lol)- photek

so, i noticed my tinntinus...
reminds me when I had an inner ear infection. I had ringing in my ears that could probably be compared to tinntinus, I couldnt sleep and I was depressed about the whole thing, thank God for drugs that got rid of it lol. I do hope everybody has some kind of sound in their ears, tinntinus or not...- photek

66kb/s atrac very usable
I personally hate this codec, nothing good comes out of it. But there is no doubt it sounds better at those low bitrates than anything else I've tried. But I know that 128kbps ripped properly with the latest Lame encoder will sound much better than those 64kbps atrac+ or bitrates close to that...- photek

128kb/s mp3s - good enough for portable
I've done some blind testing with the Lame encoder, this is what I found 128kbps - sounds much better using joint-stereo than regular stereo. Test it out yourself. This was with the latest stable version of Lame - good for the "on the run" type sound someone was talking about earlier. I use...- photek

How is Koss KSC75
ksc-75s are excellent, I own a pair and use them often even over my sennheisers sometimes. You can pick up a pair without the volume control for 20 bucks or less at circuit city, if you have one by you and are in the USA. My circuit city had them for 14.99, everyday price not on sale.- photek

Strange defect w/ my Sony D-NE330 pcdp
hmm, I have a week to take it back still, I think I will. I've done some testing, trial and error stuff, with weird results. The mp3s I encode are always LAME with 320kbps stereo lame files, the buzz starts at 40 seconds into the song with preset -V5 lame mp3, it starts around 50 seconds...- photek

CD-R media reviews?
music on a cd is just data, its a bunch of 0s and 1s, it wont sound warmer on one disc over the other, IDK where that came from. check the media forums at videohelp.com, taiyo yuden is the one of if not the best dvd media you can buy, i'd bet their cd media is just as good.- photek
