SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
Sorry if this was asked already. Is there a way to turn on the WM1ZM2 without the side power on button? Touching on screen is not an option with latest firmware. Thanks.- paulchiu

Apple AirPods Pro And NEW AirPods Pro 2nd Gen (from 23 Sep 2022) - Impressions
The Apple ap2 medium ones worked for me. For better bass, the Comply medium fits well enough for jogging. Almost as comfortable as Apple’s with better passive isolation. Be warned that the Comply will last about a year max if you sweat.- paulchiu

Stax X9000 or other similar level headphones - a speaker audiophile is in search for a set of good headphones
Got my weekly Head-fi email and noticed interest in Stax SR-X9000 & others. OK. OP heard Sony ZR1 and Utopia and no like. Those are already aces for their time. Trade publications placed Utopia above HD800, etc. ofc, this was before Abyss and Susvara. To cut this short, I own most of...- paulchiu

Have you heard the new Linear Tube Audio Z10e amplifier?
Just got mine. Were there some updated versions at the show? Looking forward to testing the Z10e with my Nagra and Chord DACs once tax season is over.- paulchiu

If you want bass, the Abyss is the one for you. Susvara's bass is cleaner, but the overall upper chest warmth typer of bass with 2001 Space... is not at the level of the 1266. I think the Susvara has better bass than the Sony, not the LCD 4.- paulchiu

I tried a few external linear power supplies. Really did not hear any difference with any of my headphones. The Sony's own is fine. It's never get hot even when I max out the power with the Susvara or Abyss 1266.- paulchiu

You can safely max it out with the Susvara on the DMP-Z1. At that level, the unit seems fine, no overheating at all. BTW, there are people who powers the Susvara through A Class Amplifiers speaker terminals. Benchmark sells an adaptor for their class AB and D amps for this purpose, with...- paulchiu

just jumping in to report that in balanced mode and high gain output, Hifiman Susvara can be driven well, even on battery. Even higher output on AC. (though I like the music more on battery power)- paulchiu

The Sony DMP-Z1 is handy and portable, really great on a boat. That said, it's not as revealing as say the Chord DAVE or Nagra HD DAC. I do like the vocals with the Sony, mirrors the Nagra's vocals, that's nice as the Swiss unit uses output tubes. I am hoping the combination of the Nagra with...- paulchiu
