The Amperex Bugle Boy tub sounds incredible with the Auteur. I use it myself with the Kenzie for most music.- Nuge

It definitely gets closer but I still felt I was missing something. For my personal tastes, I found the vocals too thick. I like the breathier nature of the Auteur for all vocals.- Nuge

I purchaesed the Atrium after selling my OG Bocote Auteur. I then sold the Atrium and purchased a used OG Auteur. The Atrium is certainly much better than the OG Auteur in terms of technicalities and soundstage. But I like the Autuer's brighter, livelier mids. The Atrium's mids were too pushed...- Nuge

GUSTARD DAC-R26 Balanced Decoder R2R+1Bit Dual Native Decoding Music Bridge
I heard about that one too, apparently it's glitchy as well. Which is a shame.- Nuge

GUSTARD DAC-R26 Balanced Decoder R2R+1Bit Dual Native Decoding Music Bridge
This is what I am afraid of. The actual sound quality sounds like an improvement but it sounds like a nightmare in other ways. This looks like another good option at the 500 price point...- Nuge

GUSTARD DAC-R26 Balanced Decoder R2R+1Bit Dual Native Decoding Music Bridge
I read that too but the only thing is I've been reading a lot of comments about how the software is very glitchy (those seem to constitute a lot of comments on amazon). Have you noticed anything about that? This is a concern of mine since I use an iphone. Here is one of the comments on Amazon...- Nuge

GUSTARD DAC-R26 Balanced Decoder R2R+1Bit Dual Native Decoding Music Bridge
Are there any streamers around the 400-800 dollar range that beat the Gustard's for sound quality?- Nuge

ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)
I just meant in overall quality, but yes, they did stress that the Aficionado and Kenzie Encore sound very different.- Nuge

ampsandsound (aka Amps & Sound)
I am hoping so as well. I've heard nothing but positive things about the Kenzie (the Encore version), even at super best audio friends, and they are a picky bunch. They certainly prefer it over top tier amps like the Euforia, so that's really saying something. People mention it in the same...- Nuge

I can back this up. The mids on this combo are fantastic, voices are fantastic. And the overall tone is liquid. I don't find the combo too laid back or harsh, so it's a great middle ground.- Nuge

Eufonika (Valve amps from Poland)
The Eufonika H5 miflex is my first tube amp ever. Tbh, a lot of the terminology (like rectifier and driver tubes) is still over my head.- Nuge
