The picture looks like you wrote this review from a prison camp in vietnam  Thank you for the review :beerchug:

Review by 'Nirvana Woman' on item 'Sennheiser HD 558'

The HD558 is one of those headphones that even when you're not specifically listening to music, some soundtrack might randomly come up in a show or whatever and you catch yourself thinking gosh that sounds so nice. And that is not something that goes without saying, even with expensive...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Yeah, I have a number of amps in my house. I also have a big vintage Marantz amp but none of them are useful for the Fidelios. If you have a decent computer output I would really recommend that, or if you like to use your phone it should also go very well. :headphones:

Review by 'Nirvana Woman' on item 'Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro-80 Closed Studio Headphones'

Boy, where to begin with these bad boys. I think I'll start with a strong statement: these might be a candidate for best headphone ever made. They have so much to offer it's pretty wild. Probably the best bass I've heard on any headphone. I don't doubt that there are thousand dollar flagships...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

But why you need an amp? I just run my X1 and X2 from the PC motherboard, sounds great.

    Senny HD 560s vs 6xx

IMO yes, but I can't stand the 560S. Not a big fan of the HD650 either, but I can understand why people love it. The tonality is unquestionably more balanced and easier on the ears. Do keep in mind you'll be giving up some spaciousness, other than that it's an upgrade.

Sennheiser HD5699 'hybrid' (an HD560S with HD599 drivers)

Cool video, that's the first time I've had diffuse field explained to me. So basically any headphone with exceptional timbre you could assume is a diffuse field design? Those guys are serious headphone nerds lol, love it. I think Sennheiser has been really exciting in the last five years, it...

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements

Yeah, still two more weeks. I have seriously considered it and honestly am considering the unthinkable more and more  the money might be better spent on trying out an HD660S2 when they drop in price a bit, idk! I was just playing Mass Effect 3 and when I fire the black widow on my...

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements

That's how I'm feeling too at the moment. I've owned the HD560S for two weeks now and I'm just not getting "it". I've read from a number of people that these need time to grow on you, so I'm hoping that may still happen for me as well. As it stands I find the 58X's tuning much more to my liking...

When do you go from 'enthusiast' or collector to 'hoarder'

I have about five or six, half of them (dt990, dt770, Fidelio X2) I don't really use anymore but I'm not wanting to sell them either. The need just isn't that great and even if i sell them five years from now the value will probably still be about the same. I wouldn't consider myself a hoarder...

Review by 'Nirvana Woman' on item 'Sennheiser HD 560S'

Let's just come out and say it: I sadly don't enjoy this headphone. From the moment I took them out of the box, played Got The Life by Korn and the drums kicked in, I knew these weren't right for me. The snares and cymbals have far too much high frequency energy. These headphones attack my ears...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Maybe you made a promise that you don't want to keep... It happens, just be honest and tell them. And a lesson learned I guess.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

They're a bit too heavy in the treble for me, but I think the subbass, midbass, lower and upper midrange are very well balanced. So I think they're a pretty good shot at neutrality. But what really sounds neutral still depends on each individual, not on the harman curve. Like, if you think the...
