Yes, only DD+ (E-AC3) works. There is one program that does the decoding on the fly and visualize what channels and audio objects are active and another one that converts the audio.

I'm looking at it now. Seems like it can use Atmos audio content. After some testing I can confirm that Dolby Atmos content ca be converted to some other channel based format like PCM. This way Objects will be hard coded into channels.

Correct. I was surprised that he removed the mics after the measurement without measuring the headphones.

Where is the headphone measurement in the video?

I highly doubt that it is possible to do good measurements at distance larger than 5m.

This would be the case if the distortion is caused by clipping but the distortion is caused by the headphone limitation of playback the low frequencies at high volume. The measurement here ( Sennheiser HD650 Review ) shows this for the HD650. The THD in the bass region increases a lot with...

Most headphones fall off in the low frequencies. Look at measurements from ASR you will see that boosting this frequency range to much often ends in audible distortions. Equalization in the low frequency regime is very limited with headphones.

If you connect your TV with bit stream audio it can encode the meta data of the atmos format. But this way you can't use EQ-APO with your hrir. You have to encode atmos on the PC and that is very difficult as there is no media player that can do this.

The way you describe your setup you have the processing from Dolby home theater on top of your hrir.

VB cable, EQ-APO and hesuvi only support 7.1 input channels. So it is impossible that you have "atmos".

Why should a HD600 not work? With the measurement and calibration process the impact of the used headphone should be relative small?

I'm not talking about impulcifer. I loaded the file in Audacity and it goes up to 0db. So there is 0db headroom. EQ-APO shows that the sum for the right and left channels is +29db. With multichannel audio this will easily run into clipping. As mentioned I don't hear a clear difference...

What I see is that you have no headroom in the file. That looks like the recording is clipped. But I did not notice a clear difference between L and R.

It is rumored that the first pre-orders have been waiting since then.

The things you show in the video could also be done with the benchmark of EQ-APO.
