Sennheiser HD650 headphones with box. These have been my daily drivers since 2015. They are well worn with some scrapes and chips in the paint. The stock 1/4" cable is included but needs to be replaced ($11) because the right channel drops out unless bent just right. This is definitely a cable...- mrip541

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?
I've been looking for an upgrade to my 650s for years so figured I might as well try out the 660 despite the reviews. Definitely prefer the 650, even with eq. I have no idea what Sennheiser was thinking with the stock tuning as to me it really just sounds unpleasant with a lot of music. Oh well.- mrip541

DENAFRIPS 'ARES' R2R discrete ladder DAC - close up view
I've had the Ares for 3 days and the Iris for 2, and am told the Ares is still breaking in... With the Iris my GSX mini is now absolutely dead silent even with max volume on high gain and being fed from my pc. I'm not so great at describing sound, but instruments and voices sound spookily real...- mrip541

New denafrips DDC (Iris and Gaia)
For the coax connection, will a standard 75ohm RCA-RCA cable like a Monoprice or Mogami work just fine? Doesn't need to have a classic coax connector?- mrip541

Denafrips 'Pontus' R2R ladder DAC - close up view
Anyone know about how long shipping takes to eastern US? Also, my confirmation email mentioned that the dacs are burned in for 100 hours before being shipped out. All these posts about how people didn't like the sound "out of the box" are... concerning. Probably shouldn't have even clicked this...- mrip541

Lyr 3 - The new Coherence™ and Continuity™ hybrid amplifier from Schiit - Impression & discussion thread
I have my Lyr 3 paired with a first gen Bifrost mb. I'm looking to simplify things into one box. Anyone know how a current mb card for the Lyr compares to the first gen mb Bifrost?- mrip541

Lyr 3 - Tube or amp issue?
I'm having a problem with my Lyr 3 where every hour or so I'll get increasing noise in the right channel until it overwhelms the music. If I toggle the gain switch a few times or turn the amp off and on again it usually goes away. Any idea if this is a tube or an amp issue? I don't have an extra...- mrip541

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
I'm just a bit confused because some people say it degrades sound quality, but then there are people who say there's no difference. For example, Tyll Hertsens used splitters when comparing amps.- mrip541

Is there any reason not to use a splitter on the Modi outputs to connect an amp and powered monitors at the same time?- mrip541

Ultimate Ears UE PRO 18+ Discussions and Impressions
Just wanted to chime in here. I bought my 18s in 2012 after demoing them at the NY meet, and they are the only piece of audio equipment I still use from that long ago. The sockets did need to be repaired but since UE has switched to a new socket it's not a concern. They still sound fantastic. UE...- mrip541
