Is this better than the X-Fi Titanium HD soundcard?

I just ordered AKG K550 and an HRT Headstreamer Amp/DAC to go with it. Guess the £175 spent on the X-Fi Titanium HD was a bit of a waste of money

Thanks. Could you kindly explain how to use the E10 as DAC and E9 as the amp with a PC source? Do I really need both since i have the X-Fi Titanium HD soundcard?

Update: I'm now leaning towards Denon AH D2000 or AKG K550 (after reading Tyll's recent review on his website):   http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/wonderfully-competent-akg-k550-sealed-headphone   I have backed away from D7000 as the 2000 probably gets me a lot of the way there at...

Very interested in people's opinions on the best amping options for K550 or D2000.  Would the Fiio E9 or E10 improve sound quality if source is Creative X-Fi Titanium HD?  What other amps might work well with this setup?

Hi Roller, No final decision yet on headphones but likely one of: Denon D2/5/7000, AKG K550/Q702  or Beyerdynamic DT-770 or 990. Leaning to either Denon D2000 or D7000 most heavily right now.   If I got one of the above headphones and also a soundcard like XFi Titanium HD as you suggest...
