Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!
No luck on Amazon UK (well, not within budget anyway), but I'll keep an eye out on eBay. Thanks! What other brands are worth looking out for with replaceable cables? How are the Shure SE315s? I've had cheaper Shures in the past which were ok.- milkb0at

Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!
I just broke my pair of UE Super.fi 5 Pro IEMs. They had lasted over 4 years of heavy use, so I can't be too sad, but I am. The killer feature for me was the replaceable cables. I had just put on my 4th cable, so about 1 per year. That's much cheaper than replacing the whole IEMs each...- milkb0at

Flexible UE SuperFi 5 Pro replacement cable?
My SuperFi 5 Pros are on their second cable after the first one cracked at the end of the memory wire. The replacement is an official cable, but it's slightly different. It has a straight mini-jack instead of angled. I am happy enough with the cables, but my daily commute means that the...- milkb0at

British Headphones? No. British Hi-Fi? Yes.
Quote: That's a good point. I wonder why we stuck with the "heavy engineering" of loudspeakers while the Germans cornered the market in microphones and headphones.- milkb0at

British Headphones? No. British Hi-Fi? Yes.
Us Brits are awash with great, great hi-fi manufacturers. We have a decent music business (good musicians and bands, lots of decent pro studios) and loads of audiophiles. So where are the British headphone manufacturers? We can make headphones amps, but not the headphones themselves, it...- milkb0at

Thanks for the suggestions and advice. Unfortunately I think the DT880s are getting too expensive for me (in the UK at least). Otherwise they're probably about ideal, assuming they sound good!- milkb0at

OK, here goes. I managed to search through about 50 pages of this 180+ page thread, but apologies if the exact same question has already been asked. Music: Ambient electronica, female jazz/folk singers Open/Closed: Semi-open or closed Portable: Not necessary (mainly desktop listening)...- milkb0at

24/96 music and a 16/48 amp
First post here. I'm thinking about getting a Fiio E7, mainly to listen to music on my headphones on my work computer (which has a rubbish soundcard). The E7's portability with my iPod would be a nice addition. Some of the music on my work PC is 24bit/96kHz FLAC, but the E7 is 16/48...- milkb0at
