HIFIdiy's mini USB DAC MK2--Also a headphone amp!
Well, i finally got around to getting another power supply... found a 15V 1A regulated unit from Radioshack. It definitely seems smoother sounding and maybe a little punchier. Not to mention it looks a helllllll of a lot better and doesn't even get warm. Next up..... amp rolling! The amp...- milagu

HIFIdiy's mini USB DAC MK2--Also a headphone amp!
Well well, I must say... I'm at home tonight listening to my K271's off my HK AVR and it drives them with quite a bit more aplomb in the lower reaches. The background is pitch black and the high end seems a little less forward. It has been a while since I've had the AKGs home since they are...- milagu

Yea, it's 18V DC Digi-Key - T956-P5P-ND (Manufacturer - ETS180110UTC-P5P-SZ) Tried a couple different plugs here at work, might still be on the same circuit though. I'll take it home and try it although that kind of defeats the purpose since this puppy sits at work! I actually just...- milagu

HIFIdiy's mini USB DAC MK2--Also a headphone amp!
Well, that got here FAST. Doesn't seem that the Aune likes it though. When I plug it and the USB in the Unlock and Power lights begin pulsing steadily and there is a nice thumping in the headphones... regardless of whether the Aune is switched on or off. If I turn the Aune off and unplug the USB...- milagu

Thanks a bunch guys! That's weird... i searched a ton on digi-key for one like that and couldn't find it. I guess I suck at teh digi-key search. I've had one of those Radioshack units before too and for $25 shipped this digi-key one seems like a good deal. Just ordered it. I'll post...- milagu

Not to be a nag, but can anyone confirm that this is the exact power supply for the Aune before I order it? Digi-Key - EPS374-ND (Manufacturer - FWC1818-760F) Based on my measurements it doesn't appear to be, but I'm not exactly using a precise instrument either. Also the voltage output...- milagu

Yea, I'd like to try some different opamps... I'm going to go ahead and burn the stock ones in and see how it goes. I like it a lot already, but I know there's always room for improvement! I tried measuring the one on the stock power supply... The external diameter seems more like 6-6.5mm...- milagu

LCD TV's - full HD, 100Hz, is it worth it?
Honestly... in the 40-42" range, IMO, the necessity of 1080p becomes questionable... especially if the set is of good quality. 1080p doesn't become very obvious until you hit the 50" range when you start stretching the picture more. I'm not saying there aren't differences, just that while...- milagu

The End of Nearly Four Years of Grim Silence
Hahah... nah I do IT at an environmental engineering firm. We're always having partners, municipalities, county people, etc walking through and my desk is positioned such that I get spotted pretty easily... especially when my head has been mounted by the 701s.- milagu

Does it bug anyone else when they encounter someone who has left all of the protective film on their device? Laptops, etc? So tempted to start scratching at that corner!- milagu

how to dual boot vista and xp
Oh GOD... yes... XP FIRST. I tried to dual boot my Asus with Vista when I first got it (after I had installed all my stuff) and completely wasted the MBR. Had to restore back to scratch. I wasted hours before I read that you've got to do XP first.- milagu
