Poll: Cardboard CD Cases vs. Jewel Boxes
There should be an option for CD binders, since that's what I use. They're much more compact, you can flip through them, carry lots of CDs with you, and you don't even have to worry about breaking or smashing any cases. In fact, I have several hundred plastic jewel cases sitting at home right... -
Discovering Jazz
Quote: Originally posted by huy_ha Mingus never hurts. For some new Latin Jazz, check out David Sanchez. Eric Dolphy's "Out To Lunch" is a mind trip, with Bobby Hutcherson on vibraphone. Hutcherson's solo albums are also good. Sketches on LP, by the way, with Grado's, is superb... -

Discovering Jazz
I'm not a huge jazz fan, but my favorite stuff is actually from Herbie Hancock. I see Headhunters was recommended earlier. I'd like to add Empyrean Isles and Maiden Voyage as two albums you might like if you decide you like him. If you like Herbie, you should also check out Chick Corea... -

What Would You Recommend Me?
I would buy the Ety's. I'm in a similar situation to you, and I've decided I'd rather save up and buy the Ety's or else I'm just going to be unhappy later on down the road with the EX70's. Of course, it's going to take me some time to save up, but I think it will pay off in the end - meaning I...- MichaelN

My new Minidisc player!
Thanks to advice several weeks ago on this board, I went out and purchased a used Sony MZ-E75. It sounds great with my Koss Sporta-Pros right now. I've spent the last week recording MD's like crazy from my CD collection to bring stuff along with me whenever I walk anywhere. The only...- MichaelN

RumbleFX Force Feeback Headphones - King of Gaming headphone for 100 bucks with amp
I wonder if this would work well for movies and music, since I don't play too many games... edit: Oops, I am stupid, and I didn't read the whole thing. Looks like they're designed for games though... hmm... maybe worth checking out...- MichaelN

Good audio source/CD recommendations.
I usually bring my 10-15 favorite CDs, since those are the ones I'll be listening too the most when I actually use my headphones. I've found in the past that when I've used supposed "audiophile" CDs, the music may sound good, but its just not as enjoyable as bringing stuff that I'm familiar...- MichaelN

SACD vs regular CDP for CDs
So tempting... I definitely am not going to get into multichannel audio at the moment, as I can't afford all the speakers and amplification, so this SACD player would be fine for my purposes should I decide to get it... sigh... I think I'll take the weekend to think about it.- MichaelN

SACD vs regular CDP for CDs
I've been offered a chance to buy the well reviewed Sony SCD-C333ES SACD changer for $550 shipped (from a private seller). I know this is a good deal for this player, but I was wondering if my money would be better spent on a dedicated CD player or a DAC to upgrade my current CDP instead, if I'm...- MichaelN

Which *single* CD would you take...
Quote: Originally posted by sapphiremodena I would take Xzibit - Restless. I love listening to rap too, but if you're gonna pick a rap album, why pick Xzibit? You'd be much better off listening to Tupac with his poetic lyrics, or maybe a classic that never gets old like Dr... -
Which *single* CD would you take...
Hmm... I think I'd take my favorite CD of all time, Stevie Wonder's Talking Book. For some reason, I never tire of hearing Stevie's smooth voice... and its good for any mood I'm in, usually. I can sing along, or just listen and relax. Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, which has been mentioned a few...
